For National Young Readers Day, we have put together a list of our favorite bedtime stories.
- Sofia’s Dream: In this magically illustrated bedtime story, little Sofia befriends the Moon and sets off on a dreamy adventure to visit her friend. She sees our planet from the Moon’s point of view and is inspired to do whatever she can to protect the Earth and to encourage others to do the same.
- Stellaluna: When Stellaluna is separated from her mother before she is old enough to fly, she finds out that not all winged creatures eat fruit. Swallowing food that crawls is just one of the many amazing things this little fruit bat must learn to do.
- Julio Bunny goes to the Moon: Julio Bunny and his friends go camping and spend the night in the woods in tents. At bedtime, Julio Bunny and Laura the snail lie on the grass and watch the moon. The two friends fall asleep, but a mischievous bird awakens them and invites them to go to the moon with the help of an old pine tree … A new “space” adventure begins for Julio Bunny.
- That’s How Much I Love You: “Mama, do you know how much I love you?” “No more than I love you, for sure,” she said. “Oh, yes I do,” I said. “I love you way more than you love me.” “Impossible!” she cried, snuggling close. “Do you know how many trees there are in the forest? That’s how much I love you.”
- Edgar Gets Ready for Bed: A BabyLit® First Steps Picture Book Meet the plucky toddler Edgar the Raven! He’s mischievous, disobedient, and contrary. Dinnertime, cleanup-time, and bedtime are all met with one word: NEVERMORE! But as the evening winds to a close, Edgar’s mom knows just what to do to get her son into bed—a bedtime story.
