Thank you for articulating it like this. As one who is a King fan, and has read most, and owns many, of his books, you have captured much of what I appreciate about him. There are plenty of authors who can write books that scare me but he always seems to engage me and make me feel like I’m sitting down next to him.
And yes, On Writing has a prominent place on my shelf as well, although I am certainly not as accomplished a writer as you.

Great post, Claudia! But if you do get a chance to see Stephen King in person, go for it. Saw him do an onstage interview when he was getting an award at Harbourfront author event a few years ago and he’s just as wise, funny and real in person. He does not disappoint! And I read On Writing every year, too. Your post has made me want to read it a little earlier than normal this year!
