The Smithsonian Institution and Soundprints have teamed up in the past to produce exciting books about animals kids love and they're at it again with FUR SEAL GROWS UP (part of Soundprints' Read and Discover Books).
In FUR SEAL GROWS UP, young readers follow a day in the life of a Galapagos fur seal. Not only will readers enjoy the life-like illustrations, but they'll be fascinated to learn that a fur seal has four flippers, his long whiskers help him find fish in the dark water, and he eats squid.
This is a wonderful book for beginning readers. The large print makes it very easy to read; a glossary in the back helps young readers learn new words; and the illustrations make it feel as though you can reach out and pet these beautiful creatures. Be sure to check out some of the other books in the series including, "Hello Dolphin!"and "Gray Wolf Pup's Adventure."
