Just got my illustrator copies for the new Highlights Fall Newstand issue! Olivia was so excited to see Mommy's artwork on the cover! I remember loving Highlights as a kid, and it is great to now be a contributor to this magazine, which my own child now loves and looks forward to!

"Painted Lanterns", along with other pieces by many of my fellow MB Artists, is up for auction to benefit Wee Hopes. With your help, WeeHopes.org is working to raise $15,000 toward funding a library in Gondar, Ethiopia. All proceeds from the auction go toward the library, populating the library with books and furniture, and training/staffing the library. Together, we can bring the power of reading to children the world over! Also, check out Wee Hopes on Facebook!

Check out the great new artwork in my agent's newest promotional catalog! All artists created pieces with a "Food" theme. I highly recommend sitting down with a bowl of ice cream or a cup of hot chocolate while browsing! Enjoy!

Hope you can join us for the Book Signing and Storytime for "The Summer Fairy" this coming weekend! There will be fun take-aways for the kids as well. Also, check out the article that our local newspaper "Current in Carmel" ran about "The Summer Fairy"! It gives a little of the back story as to how the family tradition spread to friends and neighbors, and then became a vision for a full novelty picture book.

For those who might not know, my husband and I are expecting our first child, a little girl, in a little over 5 weeks! So, I just had to take some time to create some custom artwork for the nursery, which has a jungle/monkey theme. It took some time to get the sense of depth just right, but I am really pleased with the result and can't wait to hang the piece in her room! Since the piece is digital, I am having to wait for the printer to get the piece printed before it can officially debut on the nursery wall. Waiting, waiting, waiting. I'm starting to get very good at waiting! Hope you all enjoy the piece!
Super cute picture. And what an exciting time! I just had my first kid 3 or so months ago. Doing art gets a little harder, but SO much more worth it!
