To keep on writing, illustrating, getting published, promoting reading AND be the best mom, wife, friend, colleague, human being I can be, while staying sane in the brain.
1. Blogging for work

I started blogging and twittering in June of this year, mostly wondering why I'm wasting my time and words, when I should be putting my writing efforts into real publishing (e.g. books, articles, paid work) instead.

Months later - meaning now, today - I'm finally ready to admit it: 'I was wrong. Social networking is not only for people that have nothing else to do; that are lonely and need company; nor for those desperate for attention. No sir, because it's also for people like me - the desperate writer; #seeking publisher, #seeking agent, #seeking any kind of writing job on earth that pays.'

Did you ask, why do I dare to say this out loud now? Cause... pam-pam-param!
I got a writing job, and not because I was sending out queries, nooo. Thanks to my blog, I was on the market, available, contactable and now hired!
Okay, so it's not The Book Contract of the Century, but it's a great side job: reviewer for a monthly magazine, meaning restaurants, beauty spa's, scuba diving... I'm getting out of the cave for free and getting paid to do what I love! :D

I wonder what Twitter can do for us, writers seeking mainstream publishing. I'll check it out and I'll let you know as soon as I get the answer.
