1. The Princess Bride- William Goldman

The Princess Bride
by William Goldman
Rated 3 stars
“I didnt choose to read this book. It was something i had to read for english at Uni.
Ok so the main points i DIDN'T like were:
- It chopped and changed betwenn characterd wayyyy too much.
- Some parts were just plain boring (sorry) these parts were not the story itrself, but the part where Willliam Goldman just rambles about what he cut out and why. It just broke up the story and stalled things.
- Having said that, the fact that we had Goldman commenting throughout, just CONFUSED me.

Ok so what i LIKED about this book was:
- I liked the love story between Buttercup and Westley. From her realisation that she indeed did love him at the start, to their never-ending love, was really good, i sort of wished there was more of them then what their was.
- I liked the two boys introduced through the kidnapping of buttercup. They return and actually have a great part of the story, they were great charcaters, i liked what they brought to the story.
- i loved the adventure in this book, yes it was grossly unrealistic, but hey. The lengths that Westly goes to, no matter how unlikely it seemed, conveyed the message that 'love conquers all' and that is fine with me.

I think i need someone to explain the reason to why the book was written this way. Because it really confused me, even the ending. i dont get the POINT of it- the setting, stlye of it?
I dont know if you get what i mean, but if you do, thats great. ”
