Ever since I can remember there has been a split between what we felt was important and what we were told was important. Work, done for fear of survival, has dominated the consciousness of thousands for centuries. A distrust of self and others made work a prime means of survival and communication. It was a way of getting along without having to expose ourselves or reveal our true natures.
Feelings were repressed and logic and duty were sold as the prime means of existence, but something was lost. Something very important! We lost the ability to share truthfully and honestly who we were and what we felt inside. Instead, we copied others and tried to act and dress like others. We followed the newest trends and let others think for us. We sold out and took the easy way, because we lost faith in ourselves and our ability to find our own way in life. Fear caused us to distrust life, our inner selves and finally, others. We gave away the most important thing we carry with us, our power. We fell asleep and forgot who we were.
Gradually since the 60's mankind has been waking from the sleep of ignorance and finding out that we have the ability to create our own destiny aside from the norm of the masses. Individual rights, freedoms and dreams are as important as the collective goals that are sold and marketed everywhere. We realized that we do matter and that our individual dreams, feelings and impressions have merit and worth. We don't have to be slaves.
2012 will be a time when we will see that the collective dreams and goals do not work anymore and we have to rely on our own inner sight to move forward with our lives. We can't continue to have misplaced faith in systems or persons that promise much, but deliver little. We have to reconnect with the living Universe and realize we are not alone and we do have power to achieve our dreams and bring them to reality. In a way, we will have to decide if we want to live in the past and die or live in the moment and discover we are not cripples after all.
We will discover that together we are all pieces of a giant cosmic puzzle and that each piece is important to the overall picture of everything. People are now beginning to reconnect after years of separation, because after chasing the dreams of the masses we have come to realize that things are not as important as persons and true wealth is found through relationships and not acquisitions.
