A week in upper Michigan was the rest I needed to get my creative juices flowing again. While I did take my computer with me to write a little each day, the other pressures of daily life were left behind. Beautiful blue lakes, fish jumping, colorful sunrise and sunsets all made for a picture perfect vacation. The strawberry festival that began the day before we left offered up quite a surprising delicious treat. I have had strawberry shortcake before, but none quite like this. Yummy is all I can say.
One thing that will remain in my mind, however, is how friendly the people were. Everywhere we visited folks greeted us as if we were old friends. That said, I came up with some characters for a possible short story or two. (Smiling)
