1. Keeping Up With The Joneses...

So things have been a bit quiet around here lately...

And that's because over the past week or so I've had a massive creative crisis!!! hahaha!

To solve that I've begun something new... Gone in a new direction... Finally stepped away from my Moleskine. I'd got to a point where working solely this way was starting to become more and more like an uphill struggle. I want to build up a strong body of work, and I've started that... But I wasn't satisfied. Working 100% in a sketchbook the way I have ends up messing with your head. I found myself constantly struggling along the line between producing work of the highest quality, and less succesful. rougher pieces. Some of my best work shouldn't have ended up trapped in a sketchbook. Some of my rougher work shouldn't have been stuck side by side with those.

So since last weekend I've begun afresh. Separating between actual sketchbook work... Studies, ideas, doodles, etc. And actual proper artwork on bristol board.

Now next weekend I'm going to be blogging again full time with my new more serious approach. And also continuing my work on Flickr which has been so much fun, and so rewarding! I've grown addicted to sharing and commenting on fellow artists work!

But before I do that... I have a couple of final, finished Moley pieces that I wanted to share. And this is the first. Indy and Henry Jones. Father and son. Ballpoint pen, which seems to have become my weapon of choice lately! A little sketchy. But not bad. A Reasonable likeness.

Anyway, they'll be one more post from my Moleskine over the weekend, then it's onto pastures new. I was getting sick of everything I do being on yellow paper! Now back to the drawing board!
