So I started a new sketchbook... An actual sketchbook... Not like last time where I think I was trying to always create amazing finished work in my Moleskine... I'm talking about a rough and ready sketchbook. Somewhere to draw for fun... Somewhere to not have a plan... Somewhere with more freedom.
And that's what I want to do now. Mix and match my posts between sketchbook work, and shiny portfolio work.
But that's always hard... I hate showing work that's not polished to within an inch of its life... But I'm trying...
A sketchbook is an important tool for all artists. It's something you can carry around. Something to doodle in when you have a free half hour. Something to experiment in. Something to be free in...
And I've always struggled with that. But I want to post more. I want to have more work to show... So I'm opening the door to the less shiny work... Hahaha...
And this is one of the first pages in my new Daler sketchbook. My latest Everyday Matters Challenge.
Creating artwork is a journey... And nothing shows that journey clearer than following the progress of a sketchbook. This is the beginning of that journey...
