1. So I'm kind of on the right path . . .

I had another meeting with my critique group last night.

The last few times I've been there, I've come out feeling like I want to scream and cheer at the same time.

And last night was no exception . . .

The screaming comes the frustration of giving these ladies my chapters one at a time rather than having them read the whole novel at once.  There are times where I feel like some of my hints and tension that I've been working so hard to include is getting "lost in translation" through the amount of time that's gone by between each chapter being critiqued.

The good news is that last night, someone suggested having the previous copy made available to them so they can use it as a reference.  I thought that was a fabulous idea!

Now the cheering comes from two constants that have have appeared . . .

1. They all agree that my dialog is some of the best and definitely one of my stronger points.

2. They all can't wait for the next chapter!

At least I know I can hook'em, now I have to work on reeling them in.  I know I mentioned this before but part of the reason why I was moved to work on this was my niece's reaction to Cat's story to begin with (and she would be my target audience).

Unfortunately I haven't had much time to work of Cat this week (and I'll have even less next week!)  I've got to meet my deadline or I'll be seriously miffed!

SO!  Onward and upwards . . .
