I was so excited to be part of the Brisbane Writes Festival program in 2015. I have a long history with this festival, and CYA Conference has its start with the Brisbane Writers Festival, before flying solo. I was super happy to be involved again - as part of the Queensland Writers Centers program - Books from our back yard - the Living Library where I was on a panel with the awesome Christine Bongers and Robyn Collins.
























I also got to read out about 5 minutes of my book at the QWC Re(a)d Box sessions. Which was both nerve wrecking as well as interesting... I had Shona in the first part of my book that I chose to read. I don’t speak Shona at all... not even kitchen Shona... I can only hope that I didn’t butcher it too badly!

One of my favourite exhibitions at BWF was The BimbleBoxArt Project 153 Birds ... remember them? I wrote a story and then had to record it for them, to help save the Bimblebox Reserve up in northern Queensland.... well I got to see the exhibition, listen to the version of the story with music enhanced.. it was all pretty surreal.. and got to see what the artist did for our Black backed buzzard....
