Gaia's blog. A place where I share work-in-progress, sketches, illustrations and other crafts
1. War Horse

We all need a change of scenery, sometimes. I've spent the past two years working on a book that was very different from my usual children's work and something slowly emerged from the experience. I am at crossroads with the type of work I'd like to do in the next years. I enjoy children's illustration and I hope I will have the opportunity to continue, but there are also limits in working always with the same style.

In December I decided to try Folio Society's competition for War Horse. While the illustrations didn't pass the selection, I'm very pleased with the artwork. Some things can improve but this is something I hope to develop with time.

This is also the reason why I don't have a new website yet. I decided to take a little time to explore, alongside client's work and set up a new portfolio at a later date.
In the mean time, you can follow me on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/gaiabordicchia/ - Here I post work in progress and my new experiments with watercolours.
