1. Thank You, Jackson by Niki and Jude Daly: Book Review

Book received at no charge to facilitate review

Every morning Jackson the donkey carries his heavy load of vegetables up the hill and to the market. Though he works hard, he never complains and never rests. One morning, Jackson does something out of the ordinary and stops halfway up the hill and sits down. No amount of cajoling by the farmer can get Jackson to move.

When the farmer becomes frustrated to the point of threatening to beat the donkey, his wife, Beauty, sends their son, Goodwill, to help. The boy whispers in the Jackson's ear and the donkey willingly goes up the hill again. To the farmer's astonishment, he learns simple words can make a huge difference.

A sweet story emphasizing the morals of kindness and appreciation  Warm acrylic illustrations aid in stirring young heartfelt emotions. Recommended as a good read-aloud for the preschooler.
