I should be focusing. The first full draft of my thesis is due next week and I have papers due as well. It's to be expected. It's the end of the semester. I know how this works. Yet, never before have I been so distracted by the pop culture revelations of my time. How am I supposed to finish editing any of my writing when the Star Wars the Force Awakens trailer is online? I want to watch it all the time, and I usually do. How cute is that Soccer Ball droid? I think the only reason I'm getting even a little work done is because the old trio (namely Ford, Fisher, and Hamill) were not in this first teaser.
Will I have drafts to hand in when the time comes next week? Absolutely. I want to pass my classes. I worked hard to get through the majority of the semester. But I am not ashamed to admit that I have Star Wars on the brain. All I want to do (other than watch the trailer) is to sit down and write my own epic science fiction story and I can't because I have papers due.
