1. Comment on Cuddle Up With Children and Enjoy a Story by Christine Arnold

Great article, Helen. I especially like the last paragraph because it is so true and one of the hardest parts for parents about reading (I think). We go to the library a lot and that is one of the advantages to library books. You only have to read them every day for three weeks (or less!) and then you can return them and get something new. It can save your sanity. One disadvantage to going to the library with your child is when they pick something inappropriate. Usually for Rowan it’s a book with a lot of words that is quite long. I can usually distract him with something I think is better or just ask him to choose a different book. I like to get a couple of books each time, something I choose and one that he picks. It’s helpful to go in with an idea of what you’re looking for or even place a hold so that you know you’ll come out with at least one gem. Also, flip through the books to make sure the pages aren’t ripped or drawn on. That’s my two cents on using the library; hope it helps people who are just starting.
