T.M. Clark - Whats happening in my office?
1. Tick tock

The clock is ticking towards the Romance Writers Of Australia Conference, and in less than 24hrs I fly to Sydney for what looks like another fantastic line up. I can’t wait to see what I can learn to improve my craft and help to make my stories better, stronger and more interesting. I will get to see my own lovely Harlequin Editor and the team in the office, and I will meet not only an overseas editor, and agent, but mingle with others who could potentially help my career along.

Thank you to Morton Bay Regional Council for my RADF Grant making it possible.

The Regional Arts Development Fund is a Queensland Government and Moreton Bay Regional Council partnership to support local arts and culture. http://www.arts.qld.gov.au

But there is another side to this conference... the social catchup. Many of these people I haven’t seen for a year. Sure we have chatted on FB and twitter, but it will be wonderful to simple be in the company of so many other authors.

What to wear for the dinners etc...

Harlequin Dinner - yip I actually got an invite to go to a publishers dinner - for years I had heard for these, and watched many of my friends leave for these from conference, and then finally last year I received my first invite. I guess I behaved well enough as I was invited again this year... so those clothes were put in the case.

Leather and Lace cocktail party... now that was fun getting ready for - now I need to carry a hat through the airport so it doesn’t get squished, and put the hubby’s hat inside mine. so it too doesn’t flatten... lets just say that the photies had better do both these costumes justice when we party in them... ( And I am admitting to making hubby carry the chains in his luggage - I was NOT taking those in mine!)

ARRA Book signing: https://www.facebook.com/events/269040163270336/
100 authors signing... guess I should actually pack something nice for this....my bingo basket is driving me nuts - still not sure the basket will come as looks like not enough space in the hand luggage....basket or Amarula Cream... I’m thinking that the Amarula might win...

Awards dinner - so many of my friends are up for awards - and I am so excited to be there cheering for them! Now have to put that fancy dress in - and hubby’s suit...

See there are so many things around the core conference that I still have to sit in and learn ‘stuff ‘at’... its going to be a full on weekend.

So, I’m going to pack now as I leave bright and early in the morning...

See you on the other side...

Bye 4 now
Tina
