A prayer of thanks, or "grace" as it is often referred to at meal times, is one of the simplest, yet most profound prayers we can offer. Food, shelter, clothing, love of friends and family... there are so many things for which we can give thanks. This quote by English writer G. K. Chesterton so beautifully illustrates the concept "all is grace." I would do well to remember this:
You say grace before meals.
All right.
But I say grace before the play and the opera,
And grace before the concert and the pantomime,
And grace before I open a book,
And grace before sketching, painting,
Swimming, fencing, boxing, watching, playing, dancing;
And grace before I dip the pen in the ink.
