The blog of Australian Fantasy artist - Lindsay Cheesewright
1. The Art Auction House - Sell on Facebook

There are many venues available for the artist to sell his or her work through but with the Ebay's and Etsy's of the online world they come with them drawbacks and an element of impersonal selling.
Lynn Laylian Chua has addressed this issue with The Art Auction House on Facebook.

The Art Auction House (TAAH) is a Facebook Group dedicated to the selling of Original Art and more recently Prints as well. TAAH is not Genre or Category specific so it is for all styles and genres of art.
TAAH is for Artists and Art lovers/Collectors of all art.
Currently TAAH is very new and is still in it's infancy.

I asked Lynn about TAAH at what caused her to start the group:

"I was unable to find a page or group which provides an outlet for non generic/category specific art pieces and decided to start TAAH for open category art."

Compared to other venues to sell?

"TAAH on Facebook allows for free auction/sales for the artists. As Facebook also has one of the widest audiences, it is an ideal platform for promotion of an artist, their art and networking."

We all know that as artists - we work very hard and at all hours so to be able to incorporate Social Media right in with offering our work for sale is certainly a wonderful way to save time - allowing us more free time to actually spend on our art.
Continuously listing items on other venues can be costly.

So what does Lynn hope to achieve with TAAH?

"I hope to provide artists with a free venue to promote and sell their art as well as reach a wider audience without having to incur additional costs."

So if you are an artist or a collector perhaps you had better head over to The Art Auction House and join this wonderful group filled with amazing Artists and their work.
Because we all know you are on Facebook - Who Isn't ;)

If you sign up soon you could even get the chance to win a $5 voucher for purchase on an Item in TAAH (Sponsored by Artworks of Lynn Chua)

A little bit behind the Founder of TAAH

Tell me a little bit about you?

"I am a self taught artist professional trained as an animator. I work freelance as a graphic artist, illustrator and animator.
My art allows me to explore other mediums and feeds my need to create. Being a single mum, it allows me to be a stay home mum
and still be able to provide for my 8 year old daughter."

How long have you been creating art?
"I have been creating art since my teens, representing my school in art competitions.
It had remained a hobby until 2 years ago when I decided on a career change and start doing art professionally and beginning to sell my art on Facebook."

How has TAAH helped you in regards to your art/art business?
"TAAH has increased my network of artists and art lovers. As it is still a relatively new group, it has yet to reach its full potential but the possibilities are endless."
