1. Are You Superstitious?

Knocking on wood I look at my calendar to see I’m doomed no matter what as it’s Friday and the 13th and I stumble out under a ladder and out of the way of a black cat.

Ok, ok, maybe this all didn’t happen but it is Friday the 13th and that conjures up a whole new idea of what luck might be upon us. I’m not superstitious, I believe in making our own fate so if a black cat crosses my path I may get it some food or water. I’ll put the ladder away where it’s supposed to go and who knows where there is real wood for anyone to knock on these days – except for my own log house where wood is literally all around me.

As you know, this month I’m taking charge of encouraging literacy for all genres and readers, hesitant and eager, and if I let superstition play a role in this I may not be where I am today. I’ve had success and I’ve had bad luck every day, no matter the date and I owe it all to me.

I believe everyone of the authors I’ve met through this month have paved their own way to success and whether or not they are superstitious didn’t seem to matter.

Now I want to know about you and your beliefs, fears and story of superstition and maybe you can make all of us a believer.

And remember to through caution to the wind today and enter my contest to win, win, win!

Thanks for reading,
