Recently I have been very busy working on the illustrations for my first picture book. I had some sketches that I created in the traditional way with pencil, ink pen and watercolor. I decided to try and see if I could create the illustrations on my IPad. I was hoping to at least be able to work on top of my already created drawings and make some corrections to the originals. Anyone that has any experience in art, knows how difficult it can be to correct mistakes once they are painted or inked in on an original. The other problem I was having was seeing the work close up to work on small details even though I have glasses.
I was using a Wacom Bamboo stylist but the rubber tip blew out almost like a tire blowing out. Since it cost $29.98 it should not have that problem, but I found it is common. I then bought a Vivitar I Stylist and liked it a lot. It is longer than most stylists I have found. The problem is that I also have now blown the tip on it now also and have to find a replacement. The rubber tips are the best stylists, I find, but they also wear out very quickly if you are using them daily for many hours. Rubber tips are available for the Wacom Bamboo stylist, but are not easy to find unless you order them on line. I also have a wood stylist but it is difficult to work with. So for the present moment the only solution I see is to keep replacing the worn out tips on the stylists. An important thing to remember when buying a stylist is that not all of them have replaceable rubber tips then you are facing buying another stylist instead of just the tip.
