All that was sweet, all that was her
The ribbon she wore when they first met
The movie tickets he bought that day
The silver earring she had thought she lost
The button that fell when they embraced
He put everything he had in that little box
Bittersweet reminders of what would never be
The flowers he bought, but did not send
The velvet case with a solitaire ring
The letter in which she bade goodbye
The photographs he ripped apart that day
He gave everything he had to that little box
And it took and took, until there was nothing left
