I thought I would just drop in and see what was new at ferm LIVING. I was pleased to find designs from Ingela P Arrhenius on kitchen napkins and boards, and a cute cat poster for children. Also catching my eye were the bold geometrics of the Maya range (above & below) on cushions and wall art.

I was really touched last week to receive a surprise gift from designer/maker Jane Foster. Jane said she had thought of me when David Bowie died and knew I must be feeling down - so to cheer me up she created a Bowie Fan Doll. Brighton based illustrator Sean Sims will be a Brand Licensing Europe tomorrow to launch his Happy Folk collection. Staying in Brighton I wanted to mention the Unlimited Shop an independent shop and gallery. One of this years Unlimited Shop projects has been Four Play where they asked over 40 designers to create a print from a given 4 letter word and just four colours. This weeks Friday eye candy concerns print & pattern in home decor and picks out some of the new Autumn arrivals spotted online. Two Little Ducklings is a design studio based in Melbourne, Australia and was the creation of graphic design Jacinta Wier. The idea for the business came while Jacinta was on maternity leave and became interested in children's decor. Products currently in their range include prints, posters, greetings cards and wrapping paper and Jacinta also undertakes custom work and branding design.

These beautiful illustrations are by Wee Society and form part of series of designs based on kids jokes called 'Wee Hee Hee's. Wee Society is a brand of children's products created by the team behind the design studio Office - Jason Shulte, Jill Robertson and Rob Alexander. They believe that you are never too young to develop an eye for design and that "sparking imaginations leads to big bright
