This painting documents the first U-boat kill by an aircraft during WWII. The aircraft is a A-29 Lockheed Hudson and had this first encounter just off the coast of South Carolina in the summer of 1942. The sub is a German Mark VII class u-boat.

I submitted this painting to Illustration Friday for the topic, "trouble." This is an A-10 Warthog launching a camera guided air-to-ground missile from the starboard wind. The A-10 was designed mainly for air and ground support missions (also known as the tank killer), and the aircrtaft is actually built around a 30mm vulcan cannon which is capable of delivering a round every square inch to an area the size of a football field within a few seconds time.

This painting depicts the Medal of Honor mission of Major James Howard. During the mission over WWII Germany in December of 1943, Major Howard single handedly took on over 30 German fighter planes to protect a bomber group when he was accidently seperated from his fighter squadron. When asked how he overcame the odds of being shot down during this mission, he stated, "I seen my duty and I done it!" FYI - Ding Hao means "Good Luck" in Chinese.

On the HOW design forum I have made a habit of changing my self-portrait avatar to reflect the season, and of course, with my 3-d glasses on. This has basically became a brand for me. Here is a composition of the past 6 months.
Enjoy!
