Daniel Radcliffe read one of the funniest Tweets of the segment, which read, “Daniel Radcliffe is one of God’s most unatrractive creations since the aardvark.”
Colin Farrell could not help but laugh as he approached the end of his Tweet, reading, “Colin Farrell in True Detective looks like he smells like depressed couch farts.”

For those of you who were able to watch Tom Felton’s documentary, Superfans, you already know of Rupert Grint‘s inability to say no to anyone or anything. Tom was able to sit down with Rupert and interview him for his documentary. Rupert rencountered a time where he ended up at a fans’ house because he was too nice to say no. Then they joked about Rupert in drag (?)–you’ll have to watch Superfans to figure that one out.
When Tom sat down with Daniel Radcliffe during the making of his documentary, he told Dan Rupert’s stories. Dan was surprised to say the least–he was also concerned about the safety of his friend.
While Dan was on the Graham Norton show recently, the subject of Rupert’s inability to say no to fans became the subject of a good joke. Watch below:
The BBC’s adaptation of The Casual Vacancy and BBC 2’s The Gamechangers – starring Daniel Radcliffe – have been nominated for ‘best short form drama’ by the Writer’s Guild.

SnitchSeeker for the heads up!
Daniel Radcliffe will be joining the cast of the Now You See Me prequel, the first of which was a smash hit film in 2013.
In an interview with Buzzfeed, Radcliffe spoke about being in a movie that involves “magic” again.
Now You See Me: The Second Act will be released June 10th 2016. Watch the teaser trailer here.
Radcliffe spoke about his past and current roles, ‘proving himself’ as an actor, his attachment to independent films and his personal life. The excerpts on Now You See Me: The Second Act are below:
What are the things that hook you in when you are looking for a movie now?
Daniel Radcliffe: In this one, there was definitely a challenge of creating a character that everyone has an impression of and thinks that they know, but trying to do something that is your own with it, and fits in this world that we’re creating. Somebody asked me the other day, “What’s more important to you: plot or character?” And I’d never really thought about it before, but it became apparent to me very quickly that plot is more important than character. I’d rather be a semi-interesting character in a fantastic story than [have] an incredible, showy part in a film that no one cares about, in a story that’s irrelevant. Ideally, I’d like both, obviously.
Now You See Me 2, what was attractive about that was the cast. The first movie’s really fun. It’s great. But, like, the thing that made me want to do it was the fact that I would get scenes with Mark Ruffalo and Michael Caine and Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg.
Will you be doing any magic in that movie?
DR: I don’t want say too much of what I’m doing, but I feel anyone who knows me generally will have known that I’m not going straight back into, like, a full-on magical role. I did get to learn a couple of cool card tricks, just from hanging around on set. But I don’t really have a reason to apply them in the movie.
When you were approached about that film, did a part of you think, Well, it’s about magic…?
DR: It didn’t. Like, it f***ing should. But it didn’t until later, and I was like, oh, it’s magic. Everyone’s going to ask about that. Oh well.
It’s funny. I don’t have as much of a sense of that as everyone else does. When I did Kill Your Darlings, the first scene in that film was me sweeping the floor, and I never fucking thought anything of that until somebody in an interview was like, “So, first scene, you’ve got glasses on and you have a broomstick.” I went, “Ugh.”
And then in Horns, you know, my character wore Gryffindor colors. I was like, I should have thought of that said, “Don’t do that!” But I don’t think about things like that. In a way, I’m glad I don’t think in those terms, because then I probably would have gone, “Oh no, I can’t do Now You See Me.” And I had a fantastic time on that movie.

Daniel Radcliffe has been promoting his new film, Victor Frankenstein, by making a lot of appearances on shows, podcasts, and in interviews with many news sources.
Dan recently sat down for an exclusive interview with We Got This Covered. In the interview, Dan discussed his character, Igor, working with James McAvoy, and filming in Scotland. Excerpts of the interview can be seen below:
“WGTC: What attracted you to this project in the first place? It’s kind of a different take on the classic story that we all know and love.
Daniel Radcliffe: Everyone has an image of Igor as Victor Frankenstein’s hunched over assistant, like Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein. People are expecting to see that, and I felt it was important to be faithful to that image as we open the film. But that image changes about twenty minutes into the film when Victor rescues me, then takes me in and breaks my spine, which is a very intense and painful scene. Then Victor drains Igor’s hump.
What fascinated me about the script was how it revealed Igor’s backstory, how he lived before he met Victor. Everyone has an image and perception of Igor, based on what they’ve seen in the films, and I liked how the script subverted all of my expectations. In the 1931 film the creature was born in the middle of the story; in this film the creature is finished towards the end, so the story is mostly about the relationship between Igor and Victor.
WGTC: What do you think Igor sees in Victor? Why does he help him?
Daniel Radcliffe: When you first see me, I’m a freak show attraction being controlled by Barnaby, who’s played by Daniel Mays, and I’m living in absolute squalor. Igor has been mistreated; he lives in abject conditions and doesn’t even have a name. But he has a brilliant mind. He’s saved by Victor, who shows him great kindness and recognizes Igor’s intelligence and talent. After he breaks my spine, I begin helping Victor with his experiments.
WGTC: What was it like filming in Scotland, and what did that bring to the film?
Daniel Radcliffe: Well, we filmed the main castle sequence, the climax, in January, when it was freezing cold, and they had all of these rain machines pouring down on James and I for two weeks.
There was this little room, a hot room, two-by-three, where we could run for cover and get warm, which we did every time there was a break. The conditions made the scenes seem real to us, and Paul was very good at letting James and I find the characters and play around. It’s a beautiful looking film, classic, gothic, but also very dark at times, and I think that, tonally and visually, it’s very faithful to the original film.“
The entire interview can be read here, in the original article. Victor Frankenstein comes out in less than 2 weeks, on November 25.
There were many blockbuster movie trailers that were released this week, including the premiere trailer for Now You See Me 2. Daniel Radcliffe becomes the man in charge of the original cast of the Housemen heist group (except Isla Fisher, who isn’t returning for the sequel).
Dan makes his debut appearance in the very end of the trailer…where he classically screws up a simple card trick. Obviously, this new character Dan plays has never been to Hogwarts. He also has a long way to go before he has the skill level to be considered a Horsemen, and the look on the other Horsemen’s faces prove their disappointment, let alone wielding the power of manipulation over them. The trailer can be seen below:
Movieclips Trailers describes the movie on their YouTube Channel, saying:
THE FOUR HORSEMEN [Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan] return for a second mind-bending adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking them around the globe. One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than WALTER MABRY [Daniel Radcliffe], a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.
Also starring big-named actors such as Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Mark Ruffalo. The movie will hit theaters June 10.
Yesterday, on November 12, now officially “Daniel Radcliffe Day” in Hollywood, Daniel Radcliffe received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Though he has moved on to a create a diverse acting portfolio for himself, with a variety of roles on screen and on stage, Radcliffe will always be tied to his role as the beloved character of Harry Potter. (Videos of the ceremony can be seen below.)
Expressing his gratefulness at receiving such an honor, Radcliffe told Variety:
“It’s really an incredible honor,” he says about the star. “We (Brits) have a national embarrassment about people saying nice things about us, so I was taken aback at first but then I had a real sense of gratitude. Only about 20% of people who work in film and television end up on the Walk of Fame. It’s kind of amazing. I don’t know if they remove these things, but no matter how badly I mess up, they can’t remove it,” says Radcliffe, who has managed to avoid the fate of many of showbiz child stars while navigating his way to adulthood.
“It’s a very transient industry, but there’s something permanent about (the star),” says Radcliffe, who also has had his hands and feet immortalized in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood along with his “Harry Potter” co-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
Variety reported more on Radcliffe’s post-Potter roles that have certainly contributed to his award, by showcasing his skills in diverse roles. That article can be read here.
Leron Gubler, President and CEO of Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, gave a speech introducing Radcliffe. He began by honoring a young man that has “literally had a spell-binding career.” Radcliffe received the 2,565th star on the Walk of Fame. He was awarded, of course, a star in the Motion Picture category.

Gubler gave a brief synopsis of Radcliffe’s entire acting portfolio. Daniel was recognized with the beginning of his career at age 9, playing Young David in the BBC/PBS production of David Copperfield. Gubler goes onto list Radcliffe’s more recent projects that have been completed this year, and will be completed next year. Gubler saved even mentioning the Harry Potter films until the very last sentence of Radcliffe’s filmography introduction, before moving onto talking about Radcliffe’s roles on stage, his other achievements, awards, and philanthropy work.
Before Daniel spoke, his good friend and comedian, Chris Hardwick, had a few kind words to say. His comment that Daniel should have received a star just for growing up in the industry and not becoming a jerk garnered lots of cheers.

Harry Potter director and producer, Chris Columbus, took the stage after Hardwick. He talked about casting Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter after seeing him on screen as Young David Copperfield, as well as watching him grow in the versatile roles he has taken in addition the Potter films. Columbus said he cried tears of pride at Daniel’s other performances, even the comedic roles.
Daniel gave a moving speech, and acknowledged his gratefulness at the role the Harry Potter films and his Harry Potter fans have had in his life. He thanked those fans who showed up for his ceremony, frightened that only a few lonely people would show up. Radcliffe mentioned being lucky quite a bit. Dan said in his acceptance speech:
“A few months ago I was walking along here with a couple of friends and was becoming in awe and slightly overwhelmed by the names that I was going to be joining. Growing up in England, when you hear the word Hollywood, right after you picture the sign on the hill, you picture these stars. It feels a very long way from when you grow up in Fulham to this.
“Thank you to everyone…As this is an honor mostly related to Potter, I would be remiss if I didn’t not thank Warner Brothers and David Heyman for making those films, and for allowing me to be in them. Thank you to everybody who came today, by the way. I really wasn’t sure what this would be, if it was going to be just me and six people. I didn’t know if you would all turn up, this is amazing. Fans of the Harry Potter films are unique and amazing and wonderful. Still six years on since I’ve finished them, I am constantly being amazed by their passion, and by their curiosity, and by the fact that they are interested in so many other things than Harry Potter. That is a curiosity that I think was fostered by Jo Rowling and passed on to all of you. Thank you for carrying that on, and thank you for supporting me in my other efforts as well.“
Daniel went on to talk about how his love for the film industry was instilled in him by Chris Columbus and working on the Harry Potter films. He talked of how his wonderful experiences on the Potter films shaped his career. Last but not least, Daniel also thanked his parents:
“I talk about luck a lot. I was very lucky to get the part of Harry, I was lucky I enjoyed working long hours right from the word “go”, and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to continue my career and work with the people I love in the years since Potter finished. But the seeds of all my luck were sown at the very beginning, 26 years ago, when I got you as parents. So thank you, and I love you.“
A short version of the award ceremony can be seen below, courtesy of Press Association:
Variety has posted the entire award ceremony on its YouTube channel. The 47 minute video can be seen below. Not much happens until the speeches begin at time marker 24:00. Daniel’s speech begins on marker 36:52.
While promoting his upcoming film Victor Frankenstein, Daniel Radcliffe caught up with E! News, and the conversation inevitably turned to the new wizarding world film series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Eonline released a short clip of the interview, in which Radcliffe is asked how he feels about the upcoming films. He replied, “I can barely keep myself in this chair. Yes, I am very excited, but I’ve also been asked about it a lot, and I don’t have any information to give, unfortunately.” He also adds, “I’ve just seen the image of [Eddie Redmayne], and he looks great.”
He was also asked if, as a veteran of the wizarding world, he has any advice for Redmayne:
“No, I don’t think he needs advice, just like enjoy it,” Radcliffe says. “I don’t think there’s anything to live up to as well, especially in a way because it’s not like there’s original source material which is a very strong narrative. You know the Fantastic Beasts book is really cool…I hope he’s just enjoying it.”
Radcliffe wants Redmayne and the new movies to be able to stand on their own two feet, which is why he previously told E! News‘ Marc Malkin that he wouldn’t be appearing in Fantastic Beasts. “I feel that would be a very distracting thing so I’m not looking to pop up in them,” he confessed.
In the article, Eonline reiterates that Fantastic Beasts takes place 70 years before Harry’s time. It therefore seems unlikely that Daniel Radcliffe would have a part to play, anyway, unless the films somehow incorporated a flash-forward sequence. Who knows what J.K. Rowing and the other creative minds involved in the films might dream up?
In related news, Dan also weighed in on the ‘No-Maj’ controversy. ‘No-Maj’ is the American alternative to ‘Muggle,’ and will be used by American characters in the Fantastic Beasts films. According to Mashable:
“I have no strong opinions about this,” Radcliffe told Mashable when asked about the no-maj news.
“We have different words in England, so it makes perfect sense that there should be a different word for it in America.”
Radcliffe, who is currently in New York City promoting his new film Victor Frankenstein alongside James McAvoy, added that “because no one has pronounced it on film yet, no one [really] knows how to say it.”
“I guess part of the new prequel is set here, or they come here, so I’m excited to see what they do with that,” he added.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be released in theatres in November 2016.
Daniel Radcliffe has been making the rounds on talk shows, promoting his new movie, Victor Frankenstein, which hits theaters November 25th.
Right before going to a premier for the movie, Dan Radcliffe stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. After forcing Jimmy to dance the Gangnam Style, they engaged in a card game of War…with a watery twist. Half way through getting soaked, Dan remembered that he was going to a premiere and didn’t bring a dry change in underwear. Check the videos out on The Tonight Show web page, and below:
Dan also retold the story of when he met GOP presidential candidate, Donald Trump, as a young kid visiting NYC for the first time. He compared the presidential candidate to London’s mayor–as a man who says things that would normally end a politicians career, gets away with it, and somehow gets elected. This clip can be seen below:
While in New York promoting
Victor Frankenstein, he also made an appearance on “Kelly and Michael.” He also talks about his other film projects in his career, including his new hair cut for
Imperium and getting his star on the Hollywood walk of fame. Daniel also talked about not being old enough to play an older Harry in
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. He said that he is happy to see the part Harry coming back in an eighth story, he is also happy to see what it would be like to have someone else in the role.
Sitting down with SlashFilm.com on the set of Victor Frankenstein, Daniel talks about working in unconventional roles, and goes into detail about his role as Igor. He talks of playing the part physically, including wearing a prosthetic hump and performing stunts, such as stage fighting, without hurting the other person. Dan also discusses what attracted him to the role in the first place
“James McAvoy said there’s a physicality to this role. Could you describe that for us?
Yeah, in my experience in doing various physical scenes with people, half of your energy that day is just spent in getting the other actor to engage physically with you. Most actors don’t do it, don’t want to hurt you, but James and I have enough confidence in each other that we’re not going to hurt each other. It’s amazing working with James on that level; he gives 100% every time. He just throws me around.
I’d like to think I’ve been the most willing victim he’s ever had. Pretty much our first day actually was him repeatedly slamming me against a pillar; so yeah, that set the tone. I’ve enjoyed all aspects of working with him, but I think the physical side is what sets this apart.
Does that physical side take a toll on things, even on elements such as your costume?
Not so much on those things, but on the first day, that slamming against a post, I had a prosthetic on — not of the full hump, but of the hump when it’s been drained, so it’s actually messed up and not nice looking. So I had that on for three hours, then I put a costume on over it, so it started getting sweaty and covered in material, and then I’m landing on it every time when I go back, I’m hitting the prosthetic time after time after time. And then, at the end of the day, after doing that for seven hours, they were like, “OK, close up on the hump,” and actually, it held up remarkably well. James has got the brilliant ability where he really looks like he’s slamming you against the wall, while actually taking most of the impact himself. So it held up better than we thought.
But was that an attraction to this?
There’s always an attraction to it, in the same way there was about playing Ginsberg [in Kill Your Darlings], about any kind of transformation – particularly a physical one as well – I really enjoy that. I enjoy working with hair and makeup a lot, I enjoy watching people being good at their jobs, and so hair and makeup and prosthetics and all that lot, I’ve always loved being involved in that, but this is definitely the most heavily made up look. I’m not sure if it’s a deliberate thing, but I think most actors enjoy looking in a mirror and not seeing themselves.“
Dan talked in detail about his character, Igor, and how his adaption of the role is different than any other of the Hollywood character (Igor has become a staple to Frankenstein movies, though the character was never present in the novel by Mary Shelley.)
“What differentiates this new iteration of Frankenstein?
One of the big differences in this film is when the monster is created, and that puts a very different perspective on everything. The monster isn’t created until the end of… we have several attempts throughout the movie, but the main monster isn’t created until nearer the end of the movie, whereas traditionally it’s something that happens earlier. So it’s less about what happens to the world after the monster is created, and the monster in general, it’s more about the relationship between Frankenstein and Igor preceding it, which of course isn’t a relationship that is in the book. It’s something that has been entered into a global consciousness by loads and loads of movies.
Does Igor have the same drive to play God that Frankenstein does?
Not at all, he wants to… the battle for Igor is, once Victor has rescued him, and he develops this insane loyalty to him, then Victor starts going off the deep end ego-wise. It starts off being very well intentioned, ‘I want to create life, and do something incredible to change the world’, and as his ego takes over, it just becomes, ‘how far can I push this? What crazy, insane thing can I do, just because I can?’, and I think Igor – the chance to change the world for the better is something he never thought he would get, so entering into that, he’s incredibly excited, he wants to be part of that, but then the battle for him in the film is trying to work up the courage to actually stand up to Victor and to tell him to stop.
Are you interested in any other portrayals of Igor from the past?
Other than the ones I’ve already seen, and grew up loving, like Marty Feldman [in Young Frankenstein] is one I get referenced a lot, I think this treads a really wonderful line between Frankenstein and Young Frankenstein. There is humor in this film, it’s not a comedy by any stretch, but there is humor in it. I’ve played a few parts where there have been other people who have played them — when I did Equus, there was a film of that — I’m always worried about being influenced too much, especially this where it is such a fresh take on Igor. I’m a terrible mimic, if I see something to hang on to, I’ll probably do that, so it’s just trying to create it myself, and trying not to do bits from Marty Feldman.
So how old is Igor supposed to be?
I think he’s supposed to be early 20s. He’s younger than Frankenstein. He’s also supposed to have lived his life entirely in the circus, so he is — he’s not naive, but he’s terrified of the world around him.“

Yesterday Playboy released a 20Q interview with Daniel Radcliffe, centred around his role as Harry Potter, his personal life and beliefs, Victor Frankenstein, Equus and the price of fame.
Here’s some of the Potter highlights from the interview!:
Q1
You were 12 years old when the first Harry Potter film came out. At what point did you realize the role was going to follow you for the rest of your life?
It may have become clear to me only in the past few years. In your head, you imagine it will all go away once the series is over. When I was first going out to bars and pubs, I was trying to pretend I could have a normal existence. Then you realize that people know who you are, and when you’re in a bar they take out their camera phones. Eventually you accept that you have to adapt how you live.
Q2
The Potter series is over. Has the attention gone away?
It feels like I get recognized more now. Here’s what’s scary: If you were 14 when the first film came out, you’d now be almost in your 30s and could well have a child under 10 whom you’re now introducing to Harry Potter. We’re already getting the next generation. That’s just bizarre. It’s never going away.
Q3
Why hasn’t the appeal faded?
Because the stories are great! A huge part of our culture now is that if something becomes successful there’s a backlash. Harry Potter didn’t have that. There are people who don’t want to read it, but the number of people who actively dislike it is very low. The books are great, and they came along at the perfect moment, when there was a fear, because of the rise of computer games, that reading was going to become a thing of the past. When kids suddenly found these books, it was something everyone could get behind as a global populace.
Q8
You’ve said that your performance in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth movie in the series, was your best, but you hate watching yourself in the sixth, The Half-Blood Prince. How did your best and worst performances come back-to-back?
In every movie up to the sixth one, you can see a big step forward in my acting. And then it stopped, or went backward maybe, in the sixth film. I really enjoyed my performance in the fifth—part of it was how much I worked with people like Gary Oldman and David Thewlis. On the sixth, I remember watching it and thinking, Wow, there’s been no growth. You’re watching a mistake you made every day for 11 months—that’s the way I saw it. I had the idea that Harry was like a soldier traumatized by war, and as a result of that, he shuts down emotionally. That’s not a bad idea, but it’s not the most interesting thing to watch for two and a half hours.
Q13
You’ve focused mainly on low-budget independent films since playing Potter. Will people ever not think of you as Harry?
One of the positive by-products of celebrity culture for actors like me who’ve been stuck with one character for a long time is the opportunity for people to get to know me. I don’t think Mark Hamill, for example, had the same opportunities for people to get to know him. When I went on Jimmy Fallon and rapped a Blackalicious song, I got a job off that—playing Sam Houser in Game Changer, the movie about Grand Theft Auto. It made the guy in charge go, “Oh, he’s interested in hip-hop. He’s not just a typical posh white boy.”

Victor Frankenstein – Daniel Radcliffe’s newest appearance as Igor – is released on November 25th. Watch him talk about this role at Comic Con here!
Following the first promos for The Gamechangers the other day, SnitchSeeker has released photos of Dan on set, along with two outtakes from Dan’s cover photo shoot for GQ Style Germany magazine – both of which you can see here.
The full set of GQ Style photos can be found at The Fashionisto, and Channel 24 has released a couple more photos of Dan on the set of The Gamechangers.
Radcliffe will be portraying Grand Theft Auto creator Sam Houser in the BB2 production, which focuses on the fame and controversy surrounding the Grand Theft Auto games. You can watch the trailer below:
The first official promotion picture of Daniel Radcliffe as the Grand Theft Auto creator Sam Houser in Game Changer was published in the August issue of Edge Magazine and the article can be accessed from Snitchseeker. The BBC2 production is set to air sometime in September.
Game Changer focuses on the rising prominence of the Grand Theft Auto series as well as the efforts of activist Jack Thompson (played by Bill Paxton) in attacking GTA for its violence and sex. The BBC2 production is written by James Wood and directed by Owen Harris.

When talking about the process of getting into the character of Houser, known for his shunning of publicity, Radcliffe states:
“Normally when I go to approach a character, the concerns are: where is he from? What was his upbringing like? And how different was it from mine?”.
Radcliffe also points out to the similarities he shares with Houser – upbringing in the same part of London and at least one parent in the entertainment industry – saying that he feels like his sensibilities are similar to Houser’s.
Despite the legal action taken by Rockstar to shut down the production of Game Changer, claiming BBC is using its intellectual property without a warrant, the film is set to premiere at some point in September at BBC2.
Twentieth Century Fox has released the trailer of James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe in Victor Frankenstein. With a personal introduction by McAvoy and Radcliffe, the YouTube trailer shows high drama and intense special effects. Igor (Radcliffe) seems to have sincere doubts about the duo’s monstrous experimentation, but Frankenstein (McAvoy) has no qualms. When the monster finally lives, it is frightening.
Victor Frankenstein is set for a November 25 release. Read more at Fox Movies, here.
Deadline reports that Daniel Radcliffe has been signed to play the lead role in a new FBI thriller, Imperium, from Atomic Features and Tycor International Film Company. According to Deadline:
“Radcliffe will star as a young FBI agent who goes undercover to find and stop white supremacists trying to make a dirty bomb. It’s based on the experiences of Michael German, an FBI undercover agent who spent years inside United States neo-Nazi and militia groups.”
The film, which is based on real events, is set to start filming in the fall. Imperium will be the feature film directorial debut of short film director, Daniel Ragussis. The script is co-written by Michael German and Ragussis. Imperium will be produced by Ty Walker, Dennis Lee and Simon Taufique.
With Imperium added to Radcliffe’s schedule, he is sure keeping busy. Later this year, Radcliffe can be seen in Fox’s Frankenstein retelling, Victor Frankenstein. In addition to that, Radcliffe is currently filming Swiss Army Man, an indie comedy with Paul Dano. In 2016, Radcliffe will make an appearance on television in an upcoming BBC2 TV film Game Changer as the co-founder of the Rockstar Games company Sam Houser.
Today we wish a happy birthday to Daniel Radcliffe! The lead actor of the Harry Potter films turns 26 today. With so many upcoming projects, including Victor Frankenstein, this is sure to be a good year for him.
For a behind-the-scenes look at another project, Radcliffe recently posted a clip of a voice-acting appearance on Bojack Horseman to his Google+ page.
Bojack Horseman is an animated Netflix original series, starring Will Arnett in the present-day as a washed-up ’90s sitcom actor. Daniel Radcliffe made an appearance in a recent episode of Season 2.
Only he knows what other projects he has in the works, but please join us in wishing Daniel Radcliffe a very happy birthday– and many more!
Daniel Radcliffe recently visited Nylon Magazine offices. During his visit he agreed to pull a prank, and sit in as Nylon’s front desk receptionist for an hour. Having never been a receptionist, Dan was miserable at the job, which made the prank even more laughable.
The first few people to walk by didn’t even notice the difference. Then came workers and visitors who knew who he was. In the midst of photos and compliments on his role in Harry Potter, many who visited the desk actually need to meet with NYLON staff, deliver packages, pick up packages, borrow stamps, or obtain the bathroom key. The only job Dan seemed able to complete was finding the bathroom key!
The best part of the prank was Joe Jonas’s inability to recognize Dan. He introduced himself, asked if Dan was new, then asked if he was from “the England.” When Dan was unable to call the extension of the staff member Joe needed to meet with, Joe said under his breath, “this new guy sucks.” Perhaps Mr. Jonas feels his embarrassment now? Dan had a good laugh about it. NYLON magazine wrote:
I reached around the desk, grabbed a bag, and made my merry way back to my desk. As I walked back, out of the corner of my eye, I saw that there was a man sitting at the desk. I turned my head, and, to my delight, I realized that my peripheral vision had not failed me. It was Daniel Radcliffe sitting at the front desk. Yes, that Daniel Radcliffe. Confused and more than a bit dazed, I stared for a moment before accepting this fact and returning to my desk.
That was strange. Was I supposed to say something? Should I say something? Probably not. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed another sight. It was an intern, crying. My peripheral vision was not failing me that day. They were tears of shock and, I think, joy.
I received no phone calls during that hour, which was strange. And a package that was supposedly delivered to the office for me never made it to my desk. As I started to track down the aforementioned package, I heard a squeal. Apparently Joe Jonas had come into the office, to surprise Daniel and try to resume his job.
Buzzfeed, of course, nailed all of the hilarious gifs and comments.
As hoped, Daniel Radcliffe talked more of his BBC film, Frankenstein. He described the film with every type of adjective and genre in the filmmaking industry in a video posted by the Daily Mail. He promoted the film with formal photos taken at Comic Con, with his co-star James McAvoy. These photos can be seen in the Daily Mail article.
Entertainment Weekly was also able to catch up with Dan on the panel, in the “Entertainment Weekly Lounge” at Comic Con. Dan was dressed in costume when he hit the show floor, but didn’t remain in it for long. EW reported:
The two, along with director Paul McGuigan, spoke with EW’s Tim Stack about their experiences at the show, including how McAvoy’s bald look has actually helped him get around incognito.
The three also talk about what audiences can expect from the film, and whether or not it’ll put a few unexpected spins on the Frakenstein mythos.
The video from EW’s Lounge can be seen on their website.
Hypable reported Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy’s comments from the Comic Con panel, saying:
“We shall create life out of death,” says James McAvoy in the first Victor Frankenstein trailer. The preview is packed with special effects and action, as McAvoy’s Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe’s Igor work together to create a monster. The trailer is incredibly entertaining and — more surprising — it’s very funny. “It’s alive!” Igor whispers at one point. “Yes, well, that’s rather obvious” responds Dr. Frankenstein.
We then saw a clip from the film in which Frankenstein attempts to create life in front of his peers. After accidentally electrocuting himself and causing a bug infestation to erupt from his monster, his attempts to bring his zombie-monkey to life actually work. This is followed by a scene in which Igor looks for the creature and it attacked by it — but it seems as if there might be some scenes in between these two that were cut out.
The Washington Post added a few words:
Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy also came out to talk about their film “Victor Frankenstein,” out Nov. 25. It’s inspired by Mary Shelley’s novel but told from Igor’s (Radcliffe) perspective. McAvoy said the film is about obsession, and the relationship between Igor and Victor.
“I’m trying to pull him back from the edge of insanity. How do you stand up and tell someone they’re wrong when they’ve given you everything you have?” said Radcliffe.
They also showed a clip of the terrifying moment the homunculus comes to life.
Not much has been seen or heard about Daniel Radcliffe in the new film adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. The film, Victor Frankenstein, will be told from Igor’s (Daniel Radcliffe) perspective. Other than a series of release date changes, we’ve had but a few pictures of the film appear. The most recent picture, from last week, shows Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy wet, and in a battle stance, against a fiery setting. Previous pictures (from April) show the pair sitting, nonchalantly, in front of a pile of limbs and flesh.

Entertainment Weekly recently sat down with Daniel Radcliffe, reporting:
‘The way James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe talk about Victor Frankenstein, it sounds less like an adaptation of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel and more of an amalgamation of every version since then.
“It’s about creation, and Victor is not only creating this monster but in a sense Igor, who in the beginning of the movie is living in abject conditions and considered less than human,” Radcliffe says.
A combustible friendship forms.
“Victor’s ego means that at times he thinks he’s superior to Igor,” McAvoy says. “Their relationship is close, loving, abusive, manipulative, and it turns on a dime.”’
Christian Daily reported earlier interviews:
‘“There is some debate now about which is the version we’re going to use,” Radcliffe said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “It won’t be up to me, because it’s not actually my name for the whole film … so I’ll leave that as a tantalizing clue.”
The former ‘Harry Potter’ star’s character had not been introduced in the novel but made its debut in the 1931 film ‘Frankenstein’ and has become a stock character from then on.
Helmed by Paul McGuigan and written by Max Landis (‘Chronicles’), this upcoming film will not only highlight Igor’s experiences as an assistant to Dr. Frankenstein but also as one of his experiments.
“It’s about creation, and Victor is not only creating this monster but in a sense Igor, who in the beginning of the movie is living in abject conditions and considered less than human,” Radcliffe explained.’
The movie has been slated for October 2, though the date has been moved several time. We may hear more about it from Comic-Con this weekend. Daniel Radcliffe is slated for the 3:15-3:30 slot to speak on the panel/podcast.

The first movie poster of The F Word has been released. Daniel Radcliffe's new dramatic comedy currently has no release date, but the release of the movie poster brings about a new hope that the movie will be a film to look forward to next year. HeyUGuys also posted a discription of a scene from The F Word, and a plot synopsis, along with the movie poster:
“Wallace and Chantry meet at a party while reading refrigerator magnet poetry and find that they have great chemistry…. as friends. Wallace, who has the appeal of a puppy dog and a very dry wit, falls for Chantry, smart, funny and just a bit funky. They form a relationship in which they talk about everything from movies to illnesses to disappointing Christmas presents. Their relationship grows as they email each other, go for dinners, and chat via instant messaging. It’s heavy interest at first sight but there is a problem; Chantry has a serious boyfriend.
The audience watches while Wallace falls harder for Chantry and Chantry must deal with her growing feelings for Wallace. Should friendship be squashed due to budding romantic influences or can men and women control their desire to simply enjoy the benefits of a platonic relationship?
With Chantry’s boyfriend, Paul, offered a job in Europe, and Wallace’s exceptionally attractive boss making serious overtures, will their relationship continue status quo or evolve?”

Daniel Radcliffe was interviewed by MTV about his post-Potter projects. He talked about his role in
Horns, and working with director Alexandre Aja. Radcliffe talked about returning to a fantasy genre in
Horns, but the role being very different from Harry Potter. A video of this can be seen below.
MTV reports:
Directed by "The Hills Have Eyes" helmer Alexandre Aja, "Horns," based on the best-selling novel by Joe Hill, centers on a young man (Radcliffe) who is the prime suspect in the brutal killing of his girlfriend. One morning, he wakes up with a horrific hangover and a set of horns growing out of his head. He quickly leans that the horns have the ability to force people to confess their darkest sins. With this new power in tow, the newly horned man sets off to put his skills to the test and find out who really killed his girlfriend.
"The script is so good, the story," Radcliffe told MTV News recently about why he was attracted to the film, which starts shooting this fall. "There's nothing really, I think, that can be so exciting to an actor as an original idea. It's an original idea that's tackled in an original, fresh and vibrant way."
"There are opportunities, especially at the beginning of the script, for some very dark humor," he continued. "It's a script that, as it goes on, becomes really very emotional. It has the potential to be very moving and kind of heartbreaking, really."
"Hellboy is what we're trying to avoid," he laughed. "It's not that on-the-nose. It is interesting. There will be a lot of prosthetics involved towards the end, because some terrible things happen to my character."
As much as any other reason to get involved in "Horns," Radcliffe said he's excited for the film to show that both he and Aja (traditionally viewed for his blood-and-guts horror fare like "Hills" and "High Tension") are ready to display new sides of their craft.
"I love the idea that Alex and I are in kind of similar places, where everybody is very willing to put us both in boxes and assume that there are certain things we do and certain things we don't want to do," said Radcliffe. "I think we're both very keen to flex new muscles, both of us."
It has been reported that Daniel Radcliffe is to "participate in a live online discussion" about raising awareness on the prevention of suicide. The Trevor Projects "Talk to Me" campaign is hosting the live chat on Google+ Hangout, and will have questions that were submitted by young adults and chosen by Trevor Project’s Youth Advisory Council. The event begins September 16 at 2:00 PM, and will also appear on The Trevor Project's Google+ and YouTube web pages. Talk Movies World states:
“Suicide is absolutely tragic, and it’s also completely preventable, which is why it is so important to learn how to help during The Trevor Project’s National Suicide Prevention Month,” said Daniel Radcliffe, actor and 2011 Trevor Hero Award honoree. “The Trevor Project is full of amazing volunteers who work every day to save lives on the phone and online, but the ‘Talk to Me’ campaign is about how each one of us can help save a life, too. I am really proud to be a part of this extraordinary initiative with The Trevor Project.”<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" ?>
“Talk to Me” is a public awareness campaign to prevent suicide and runs throughout the month of September. The campaign is grounded in research indicating improvements in help-seeking behaviors and access to care can have a dramatic effect on suicide prevention, a message emphasized in the new National Strategy for Suicide Prevention released on Monday by the Department of Health and Human Services.
"The Trevor Project is very excited for this truly international event and grateful for Daniel Radcliffe’s continued and unwavering support of our life-saving, life-affirming programs for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. It really makes a difference to hear a straight ally and role model like Daniel empower young people to do something life-saving, like saying, ‘talk to me’ to a friend,” said Abbe Land, Executive Director & CEO of The Trevor Project.
