The last 200 or so Showdowns will be presented in person for you to enjoy at this exhibition. Just like the first one that happened last year. We will also have copies of the brand new GREAT SHOWDOWNS BOOK. and new PRINTS. and other TOP SECRET THINGS.

That was an exciting Comic-con, you guys. I enjoyed some good bro time with a lot of new and old bros. And saw many new sweet faces. Thank you for coming by the table!
There were a few announcements at the show that i would like to share with you!
ANNOUNCEMENT #1:
DOUBLE FINE ACTION COMICS Volumes 1 – 3 to be published by ONI Press!
Oni will be releasing Double Fine Action Comics VOLUME 2 and the reprint of VOLUME 1 at the same time in APRIL 2013! Super exciting, you guys! I’ve already gotten started on all the extra stuff in volume 2. Knight, Muscleman, Captain, and Thompson have been helping out. Some really enjoyable experiences in store for you.
ANNOUNCEMENT #2:
The Art of BRUTAL LEGEND to be released by UDON Entertainment!
It has been a long time coming, you guys, but the ART OF BRUTAL LEGEND will finally be released! Target date around Nov/Dec 2012! This book is huge and epic and will probably get you crazy pumped. Lots of art by Nathan Stapley, Peter Chan, Razmig Mavlian, and the whole DF gang. And me, Scott C. I have some art in it. I also wrote an introduction for it. And all of the artists share tidbits of sweet info with you, the reader. so get ready for some clever soundbites!

You guys, i had the best time at Heroes Con this past weekend! Man! Met so many amazing people. it is a good place for hanging out with people. Got some good hang time with Dustin Harbin, since it was his home town. He is a good bringer togetherer of people. I would list all of these great people that i was delighted to spend so much quality time with, but you would probably get sleepy. and i would rather get you pumped!

Hey, you guys! i will be instructing some workshops at The Center For Cartoon Studies in Vermont in June along with a number of other amazing Children’s Book authors and illustrators. It will probably be the best. Because Vermont is BEAUTIFUL. There is a river the runs through town. That river will be super distracting.

This new, goal-oriented workshop will explore several aspects of writing and illustrating books for children through hands on exercises and activities. Faculty include celebrated children’s book authors, illustrators, and cartoonists: Scott C. (East Dragon, West Dragon), Jon Chad (Leo Geo and His Miraculous Journey Through the Center of the Earth), DB Johnson (Creator of Henry Picture Books/image above), James Sturm (Adventures in Cartooning) and Alec Longstreth (Phase 7).

It’s finally here, everyone! The greatest comic show of them all. The Toronto Comic Arts Festival happens this weekend May 5-6 at the Toronto Reference Library in Toronto! An amazing line up of artists and totally free to get into. It will be so super great.
i will be there with Gabe Miller, Nathan Stapley, Tasha Harris, and Joe White! We will be at Tables 155-156, right next to the babbling brook on the first floor.
And on Sunday i will be participating on this panel: 1:15 – 2:45 – Crowdfunding a Project in the first floor learning center.

Very soon, i will be flying to Calgary for the first time ever for the Calgary Comic &Entertainment Expo, this Friday to Sunday, April 27-29. I am super excited.

BIG NEWS: Two Interesting Things.
First of all, ADVENTURE TIME #4 – Sweet cover.
You guys, Adventure Time is the greatest cartoon show ever. I love it so much. I also love Pendleton Ward, the creator. But also i love Ryan North (He writes the stories for Adventure Time Comics, but you probably know his Dinosaur Comics). So i am super proud and excited to be a part of this Adventure Time Family. By painting this alternate cover for issue #4.
The covers are all great, including one by Penn’s mom with a dancing heart dude.
Second of all, there is going to be a huge Adventure Time Art Show in Austin, TX at the new Mondo Gallery! Penn and the whole gang will be there. Should be amazing. I wish i was going to be there. BUT this painting from issue #4 will be there! Check it out! Here is the info…

The East Dragon, West Dragon show was a great success, everyone. Thank you all of you who came! It was splendid to see you! Elli, John, And Max Brode even came to the show (the book was dedicated to these three. they are the best.) Thanks to Wade, Kevin, Bobby, Ben, and everyone at Gallery Nucleus for help making this show so great. Especially, Alexis who oversaw the Zombie In Love show as well as this one. She is the BEST.

It’s this weekend! The DRAGON SHOW! SO many dragons will be at this show. You’ll lose your mind! I cannot wait.
Come early on Saturday at 6pm because i will be reading the book to everyone and drawing with the gang. bring the children! and yourselves. The exhibition officially opens at 7pm.
It will be great!
Also, Knight Puppet may make an appearance. we will see.

New Twin Peaks Exhibition! April 21st!
Following last year’s Twin Peaks Anniversary show, In The Trees, is this year’s exhibition called“Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me” Group Art Exhibition at Copro Gallery in LA.
Some of the artwork is previewed on Hi-Fructose at this moment. Amazing group of artists including David Lynch himself and some of the actors from the show!

Friday, there is an art show at Ltd. Gallery to coincide with Comicon. The show is called MintCondition. The piece pictured above is from said show and is called “The Spidermans”.
So come by table E-08 and that art show! We will have such a good time.
East Dragon, West Dragon has been out and available for a couple months already. So it is time now for a sweet little art exhibition and party on April 14th at Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles! The original paintings will be on display along with copies of the book for everyone to get super signed and drawn all over! I will be there doing those drawings in those books. Get ready.
