26. Caught Red-Pawed

Being the only cat in the house, Milo doesn't have any excuses when something is torn down, scratched, toppled or destroyed...

I have been making and donating gift baskets to our local no-kill shelter to help them raise money. So when I finished the last one I had to find a "safe" place to store it until I could hand it off. I thought the top of our computer (way up on the desk) was a great place.

Yeah, right.

Caught red-pawed was my little culprit after he chewed on the back of the cello-wrap. So much for the neutering calming him down =(

27. Bye Bye Noo-Noo's

Yesterday was a rough day for our baby boy - he was neutered.  If you think cats can't give you looks, think again.  Milo had a look of terror when they took him away and a look of disdain when I picked him up.

However, other than having a lighter load on the back-end, he seems to be fine today.  I bought him the expensive, special can food and some new toys to make up for the "procedure," though I'm not sure what the appropriate gift is for taking away his...er...boyness, (Hallmark doesn't make a card for that).

Hopefully now he'll settle down and stop "violating" his duck and chewing on my hands =)

29. Milo & Me

I believe God created cats so we humans wouldn't get so high on ourselves.

My former cats were all awesome pets in their own special ways, but none tested me as much as Milo does.

Unlike my other felines (that were more like dogs in their attitude and behaviour), Milo does exactly what he wants, when he wants and no amount of yelling, begging, bribing or persuasion will change that.  (And yes this lying on my computer has become a daily habit).

However, I've recently come to realize as much as I miss my former cats, I can't make Milo into them.  He's his own feline with his own quirks, habits and annoyances - As my bloodied, bitten up arms and hands can prove.  However, he's still an awesome cat and I wouldn't change him for the world.

Someday (hopefully) far, far into the future when he's old, fat and lazy I'll look back at these kitten years and laugh...now if I could only remember that when he's tearing apart the toilet paper and dragging it through the house =)

30. Yoga-Kitty

I've recently gotten back into doing Yoga in the morning.  However, this is also the time when Milo is at his most active.

It all starts when I spread out my Yoga mat - Milo thinks this is his and immediately starts to climb and scratch it.  Once it's spread out he takes up position where my head would go.

The first exercise is a deep breathing and relaxation technique.  Yeah right!  Milo views me lying still, flat on the floor as an opportunity to "attack" my head.  He starts by snuffing in my ear then licking and nibbling on my ear lobe.  When that doesn't elicit a reaction from me, he moves into "serious-kitten-play" mode.  He grabs my head with both of his giant feet and bats it like a ball while chewing on my hair - so much for relaxing!

Next he likes to move down to my feet and give them a chew.  At this point I usually squawk about trying to relax here.  He will then jump up on his post, eye me up and launch himself onto my chest using it as a spring-board to the other side of the room.  But wait, there's more.

When I still refuse to play he will use all his noisy toys to try and get attention - the peeping bird, jingle balls, and his ball-in-the-ring.  Finally, when none of that works (and I'm struggling through my Yoga) he gives up and looks out the window.

What a cat =)

31. Happy Birthday!

Today is Canada's Birthday (so I'm told), but more importantly it's my Daddy's Birthday.

We're going to make him feel special (and I'm going to try really hard not to bite him today...paws crossed).

So here's a BIG purrrrrr and a nose kiss to my favorite person (well one of).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Love Milo

34. Kisses?

I've been teaching Milo to give kisses and as much as he doesn't like to do it, he will usually give in and give me a couple of quick licks on the nose.

Saturday after Milo ate his breakfast I picked him up, insisting on my morning kiss.  Milo was quick to give in and started to lick me.  Then without notice or hesitation he belched in my face - it was loud and smelled like kitty food.

Needless to say, I quickly put in down, but it was too funny not to share =0

36. Bad Day

Yesterday we went to the vet for Milo's second set of vaccinations - it was BAD!!

He seemed fine when we left and even after we got home - he played and had treats - but a couple of hours later he crashed.

At first we thought it was just from the stress of the day and he'd sleep it off, but he soon began to vomit and was breathing extremely fast, he also cried every time we touched him on the shoulder and hip (where the shots were given).  We immediately called the vet and they said it was normal for kittens to be lethargic after a shot, but to watch for more vomiting.  Of course, Hubby and I are freakin' out.  Then to add to the stress the power went out (city-wide blackout) and we noticed ants coming in ARGHHHH!!

As the evening wore on the temperature increased in the house and we continued to pray for our little guy.  To add a little more stress Milo started to whimper and whine.  We tried the vets office around 8:00 pm but there was no answer - What could we do but wait it out?

By 9:00 pm the power was finally restored and we got the fans running to cool off the house.  Milo was a tad more alert so I started to syringe some watery food into his mouth.  He then followed me up to bed and hid behind the curtain where he feel asleep for a few more hours.  However, by 4:00am is was up and wanting to play.  I fed him a small meal and he seems tired today, but much better.

WHAT A DAY!

37. Wow Day 36 Already!

We've had out little brat now for 36 days.  He's growing bigger each day and we're wondering when he'll stop.  We've also noticed some similarities with Milo and a Lynx.  I'm not kidding!  I think Tabby's started with a domestic short hair and a Lynx mating.

Check this out...

Milo also has the ear tufts, huge feet, is built lower on the front end (for leaping) and hunts like a wild animal.  Coincidence?  I think not!

39. Kitten Diaries - Day 22 - Kow-a-Bunga-Kitty

It's hard to believe we've had Milo for just over 3 weeks now.  He's been fun, funny and frustrating - my hands and arms are totally chewed up - but we wouldn't trade one moment.

As our baby develops and grows so does his personality.  His latest antic is to wait until I lie on the floor then race up onto the back of the couch, sneak his way down then leap into the air, landing on my head.  His landing is always perfectly executed to the back of my head where he kicks and chews on my hair.  He will do this over and over again.

It doesn't actually hurt, but it is a little unnerving waiting for the "attack."  He's like a tiny, furry wrestler coming off the ropes =)

40. Dear Diary - Poor Baby

Mio was barfing this morning so off to the vet (again) we went.  Dr. Cassie took his temperature and gave him a physical examination - she couldn't feel any blockage so we left with an antibiotic for his cold and a shot for his vomiting.

Once we got home he seemed fine and ate some food - that didn't come back up - YAH!!

42. Kitten Diaries Day 19 - Hi Ho Hi Ho It's Off to the Vet We Go

Today was vet day.  I packed Milo up and off we went for his first official vet visit.  He was a bit squeaky in the car - very unhappy to be confined - but once we arrived he was well behaved.  Though he was totally afraid of the barking dogs (no manners) in the waiting room.

He checked out the office cats - his eyes actually got big when he saw a cocker spaniel size tabby meander his way onto the desk - I think he now has a goal in mind, a size to aspire to.  Poor me!

We were very blessed to have Dr. Jeff (so kind and gentle and obviously loves cats and his job).  Milo took to him and the young veterinary assistant (also male) right away.  He purred and rubbed them with his signature arch (that I only see when he wants to eat in the morning) and didn't even fuss when he got his needle - What a good boy!

I was so proud of him I stopped at Walmart on the way home and bought him a new brush, treats, canned food and a toy - Spoiled!!

I'm also happy to report he's healthy, no worms, and is a fine young baby =)

43. Kitten Diaries Day 18 - Poor Pee-Brain

Milo has discovered that a dripping tap in the bathroom sink can be great fun!

I was curling my hair this morning and Milo decided to jump up on the sink in order to get closer to my curling iron cord - he loves all things dangling.  So to distract him I turned on the faucet to a slow drip.  He had a blast playing in the drip, licking the droplets and trying to figure out where they go (paw down the drain) and why his head was getting wet.  I was really hoping this may take his fear of water out of him.

Hubby then got up and was...errr...peeing with the door open.  To Milo's 8 week old brain the...ahh..."stream" must have looked like a version of our faucet-game so he dove onto the toilet and through Hubby's pee.  Of course, being a guy, Hubby thought this was totally hilarious and began to laugh uncontrollable.  Milo freaked out and ran under the sofa, where he hid until we lifted it up, dragged him out and bathed him once again (second in 2 weeks).

I guess that fear of water will be embedded now :(

Oh well tomorrow is his first vet visit (vaccinations/worm check) so at least he smells like my shampoo and his fur is silky smooth.

44. Kitten Diaries Day 17 - The Belcher

It's been over two weeks since we brought this little Gremlin into our lives and our hearts.  It's been fun and frustrating all at the same time.  He can be so loving one minute then be ripping and kicking the crap outta me the next.

However, he is a source of laughter.  One of the funniest things he does is belch.  And I don't mean a little hiccup sound.  Milo burps so loud I thinks it's Hubby doing it.  Plus, he does it often.  The other day he was lying on my chest and burped, then farted so loud it literally ripped out of him - how can you not laugh?!

46. Samsung NF310 Review

If you have to pay $ 399 for the netbook, it must be special. The NF310 Samsung make a case for the price premium with a futuristic-chic design, dual-core Atom processors and high-resolution screen (1366 x 768) with 10-inch screen. During this mini laptop does not offer the longest battery life, it is an excellent choice.

Design
Samsung NF310 The NF310 is a bold departure from traditional netbook you. Included with charcoal gray cap, you can see the outline of the waves on the side. Once opened, make a curve and a flat in silver deck, where the keyboard sits. These projections help system 1.2-inch thick, rather large, but the corners are rounded and bevelled edges NF310 touch of elegance. The chunkier and a half behind and slightly protruding battery makes the netbook 2.8-pound comfortable to wear with one hand.

Closing a metallic appearance, but the spots were collected with plastic coating easily and leaves us confused. We hope that Samsung will offer more color choices. Under cover, plastic with a glossy screen dot pattern around the screen. This pattern is cool, but the screen is slightly larger than we want.

Heat
During
our hands-on time NF310 was relatively cool, even while sitting on his lap. After the play Hulu videos in full screen mode for 15 seconds, we measure the temperature between the G and H keys on the touch pad and in the middle of the floor. Keyboard only reached 82 degrees, while the touch pad and the ground measured 81 - and within our comfort zone choice for laptops.
samsungNF310_side.JPG

Keyboard and Touchpad
With NF310, Samsung go with keyboard-island. We have a simple layout like other models in the N-Series to use, and able to reach our normal typing speed soon. Most of the buttons big enough and placed well. We just want the space bar a bit higher than we sometimes accidentally press the left Alt key, instead. The 2.9 x 1.5-inch touch pad is a comfortable size, and we want to make it through the metal strip, so that the fingers do we know when to deviate from the touch surface has marginalized. There is no friction, disturb us, and spun metal look is a nice touch pad.

Display and Audio

This is not full of typical 1366 x 768 pixels display on a netbook, which NF310 Samsung feels more like a normal laptop makes when surfing the Internet, edit documents and other tasks. It just feels less claustrophobic. 10.1-inch matte screen with wide viewing angle, and even added a rich, color inside. Lack of gloss means no reflection, and some sunlight is limited visibility.
The two speakers sit on top of the keyboard delivered great audio, especially for netbooks. With SRS Premium Sound drivers, we could hear the bass differ in Superchick One Girl Revolution "and rocking to Metallica's" Enter Sandman "to only 50 percent of the volume. Even if the Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror, we do not need to max volume to hear it clearly in a room with low level background noise.

Ports and Webcam

In addition to three USB ports, NF310 also offers VGA, Ethernet, headphone and microphone ports. Unfortunately, 4-in-1 memory card slot does not have a lock spring, a SD card depending on the side of the netbook means. There is another minor disappointment: In contrast to the N-series netbook last, this model does not come with a cost-USB port, so that the user is given no telephone conversation or any other power supply through the bus, while NF310 sleep accessories.

47. Asus Eee T91 Touchscreen Tablet

Recently, the technology sector have held their breath waiting for the touch pad to come especially along and blow the whole market wide open. Money safe And the long-rumored Apple tablet that may or may not be here this October. After all touch-enabled portable format is a logical extension trend for netbooks and laptops we see that most providers Apple's popular touchscreen device has a certain pride in this area. But there does not guarantee success on the part of Apple and beyond "affordable" is not appropriate will use the adjective referring to Cupertino Phone the hotel. Enter the Asus Eee T91 and touch pad.Priced at only $ 499, the T91 is 8.9-inch touch pad runs on an Intel Atom Z520 with 1GB of RAM. His 16 GB SSD might appear in the low end, but the restrictions must be taken with the T91 with the market price. Another area where the T91 seems a bit dated is in the OS department. Asus decided to go with a slightly modified version Windows XP Home. The results vary. He is a crafty pitcher Mac-esque, but can contain up to five icons before you are forced to "open up" more applications through cursor, which limit the need to increase the functionality and accessibility. The T91 do not add software with touch-oriented application design and usual for photographs and other Internet radio applications. However, there are more advantage of the limited supply. Performance clearly T91 high. It is touch sensitive and precise pen strokes. And applications run without a single hiccup. In the end, if you are in the market for T91 touchpad should arrive on your radar if your budget ceilingis $ 500. One thing to consider is given it is XP Internet swimming with compatible applications, including some as RKLauncher and can RocketDock easy to use to replace the more limited application provided with the tablet. If not, You'd better watch that reflects the current generation tablet technology, particularly with Windows 7 at the corner and promises increasing function of the touchscreen and integration.

48. Hands on with the Slim Folio Stand for the iPad 2

The last time we talked about hands on review of the product from Belkin, it is to conserve energy savings USB Charging Station Valet. The company sent me to stand for 2 Slim Folio iPad in advance, and it's very good.

I think the case Folio is just a cover for the IPAD can also be used as support. It does not come with a keyboard, but it can certainly do a lot of angles thanks to the hood you see in the picture.

Input mode is good enough for email and chat you want to do. Material created because it is very difficult and body shape. This may not leather, but is it really necessary? He lives with his name as a slim.

If there is an error on Slim Folio Stand, it was he did not do a very good portrait. Now, Folio Stand can make your iPad stand, but it seems that most of the time taken for the iPad landscape in many corners, but only one or zero for the portrait.

I have no word on when Folio Slim Stand for 2 iPad comes out, or price. According to the official website, it will only be available in Black / Midnight.

49. Day 14 - The Bubble-Wrap-Bandit

Kittens will play with anything and Milo has proven this over and over again.  Nothing is safe from is furious pounce and jab - toys, blind cords, paper, kleenex, toilet paper, you name it and it's fair game.

However, his favorite of all is a piece of bubble wrap he stole from my office (even though I kept taking it away from him, he always managed to steal it back).  He pounces on it popping the bubbles, runs and skids on it across the kitchen floor and covers his food with it when he's finished eating - like you'd do at a restaurant with your napkin.

He is also very protective of it and hates when anyone steps on it.  He revs up his pouncing-engine and attacks!

Keep away from our Bubble-Wrap-Bandit!
