We are hiring for two separate projects:
Curriculum
Curriculum developers will be asked to develop a variety of instructional and practice activities aligned to specific ELA or Mathematics learning objectives, which are based on the Common Core State Standards. Core-LX will pay authors $400 for each assignment; authors will retain ownership of their content and will have the opportunity to earn royalties for its future use. This project will begin immediately and continue through Summer 2015, though authors are free to determine the timing and extent of their involvement.
More details about the curriculum project can be found here.
Assessment
Item writers will be asked to author items for ELA and/or Mathematics Common Core State Standards using PARCC & SBAC item formats. This project will be completed during the next six weeks at the contracted rate of $204 per assessment. Assessments contain either 12 stand-alone items, or 6 passage-based items with 3 passages (200 words in length). Passages may be authored or public domain.
More details about the assessment project can be found here.
Interested candidates should email a resume to [email protected] to apply for the assessment development project or [email protected] to apply for the curriculum development project. You may apply for one or both projects.
Please also indicate whether you would like to create Math or ELA content (if you have no preference, please note that as well).

I just came across this article and thought it would be useful as a guide.
The reason I found it is because I posted a question about what I can ask a potential client with regards to a specific project. I had a very STRANGE encounter with potential client today and so when I read this list of questions...I was glad that I had asked #8 under Project-Specific Questions.
I did not get a proper response...in fact, the potential client sent the entire exchange thread back to me...but neglected to delete a comment he'd made to his supervisor...OUCH. If you want to know which company this is, I am happy to share offline (I had already been warned, so this might be a blessing).
Anyway, you can perhaps work these questions into our writing world. I think they are relevant.
Best and happy new year,
Michele
