About Hilary
I write fiction for kids. I believe in extra terrestrials, lost continents, the Loch Ness Monster, parallel worlds, and that time travel is possible. The following is a brief synopsis of THE TREASURE OF ANU-K'AI is a middle-grade adventure mystery complete at 55,000 words and the first in a potential series entitled THE BONE DIGGERS.
After her grandfather bequeaths to her a mystical artifact dating back to the American Revolution, eleven year old Jules Calloway unravels a trail of cryptic clues that lead to some very startling revelations—Columbus did not discover America, George Washington kept company with the ghosts of dead Indians, and King George III lost the war because of his obsession with an elusive treasure of indigenous gold.
These are only a few of the secrets guarded by the Bone Diggers, an underground alliance of the world’s greatest minds searching for the truth about the origins of civilization on this planet. When Jules finds herself on the run from government agents, she begins to realize how high the stakes are. For not only was her grandfather a Bone Digger, but the artifact he passed to her she discovers is a key—and not one that unlocks doors, but a key that can unlock time.
Following the trail of the lost tribe of Anu-k’ai into another world, Jules, her two best friends Remy and Deak, and a strange recluse named Quin, set sail on a shipwrecked vessel manned by cursed pirates and face the wilds of an unspoiled land where the giant mammals of the ice age still roam. Deep beneath the surface of the earth they travel, on a quest for a treasure far greater than the gold thought buried there, all the while of the hunted by an enemy who will stop at nothing to get to the treasure first, and forever silence the last vestiges of the antediluvian worlds.
