My name is Donny Bailey Seagraves and I'm an author living in Winterville, Georgia, USA. My first novel is GONE FROM THESE WOODS, published August 25, 2009 by Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House.

I live in a small town called Winterville, about six miles from Athens, home of the University of Georgia, and about 70 miles from Atlanta.

I've a native of nearby Athens. Husband Phillip and I are the parents of twins, Jenny and Greg, now grown and living in the Atlanta area. We also have a beautiful long-haired white cat, Casey, who lives in my office.

I belong to two writers' groups: Tuesday Children's Writers, a group of women who write for children and The High Shoals Sub-Rosa, a group of writers who write for all ages. I also belong to SCBWI, Southern Breeze Region and The Author's Guild. Every writer should have support groups like these.

The famous Georgia author, Flannery O'Connor once said, "Anybody who has survived his childhood has enough information about life to last him the rest of his days."

I believe in what O'Connor said and have the childhood information and memories to populate a lifetime of books.
