Hello again to all my fellow "Flappers" out there flipping and flopping through the many Jacketflap pages ... It is now October 12, 2012 and it seems that this year has only just started yet looming errily faster than fast to it's inevidable demise! Is it just me, or do any of you feel as if something or someone has plunged down on the excellerator and "time" now is just whizzing by so fast that you don't even see it if you blink!!??? As you can see, I have just uploaded a picture of me from way back when ... I'll leave it up to everyone's imagination as to what I possibly look like now ... please keep it civil and proper ... if anyone every reads any of what I write, please leave me a note so that I know I'm not just talking to myself ... I would like to get some insightful feedback on some of what I have and am writing, so I've decided to post here a bit at a time some samples of what I've been working on. Hope you will all like what you read, and that you'll let me know the good ... and the bad, so that I can work on and hone in on my writing skills ... if I indeed do have any to begin with. Hi again, well, I wrote all that stuff below quite a while ago, and most things are about the same, but there have been a few new things changed or added ... 1. I finally finished 3 of my many Children's Stories and I've just discovered that my older sister has met & knows (in a small home interior business way) Ms Mary Higgins Clarke!! Well, you could have whipped me with a wet noodle and rolled me over! So I have to send my sister copies so that she can present them to Ms Clarke. I know that's not the proper protocol one must follow, buy hey ... one must also be wise and take proper & full advantage of opportunities when they are presented ... nes pas?
The other things are not as pleasant at the possibility that Ms Clarke would even consider even accepting my stories let alone read and forward them to an agent or publisher!! No, these other things are rather sad, My dearest Uncle was diagnosed with lung cancer and went through several weeks of chemo (not sure of radiation therapy) but, after a while, the Drs said that it wasn't doing any good, that the cancer had spred to his bones ... #2 - at the same time, I finally got the attention I have been calling for for years regarding incessant bleeding ... I was diagnosed with uterin cancer ... I finished my 33wks of radiation therapy (the Drs said it was too risky to operate to remove the uterus because of my being too over weight, bedridden and that my stomach had had shifted heavily towards my left side, off setting my internals, and that my uterus was badly tilted far back ... so they opted for the radiation ... I'm due for my first check up to see if all is well ... #3 - A childhood friend informed me that her grandchild suffers from Grand Mar Seisures ... evidently they are pretty severe ... the child is only about 2yrs old ... I keep them in my prayers for strength and encouragement. It all goes to show how fragile and fleeting live really is ... it's not to be wasted but cherrished and used for as much good as one can possibly do. But, all is not without hope, for God promised a world where people would live everlastingly in peace and in health, and that even those who have fallen asleep in death He will resurrect to a cleanse new world!! What a blessing and gift to look forward to!! (Rev 21:1-5/ Isaiah 25:8; 33:24; 35:5-6/Psalms37:4, 9-11). When on earth, Jesus in his ministry showed in a wonderful though small way exactly what Jehovah God will empower him to do in a grand earthwide way. The sick and ailing will be healed, the blind will see, the deaf will hear, the lame will walk, the dead will be resurrected, wars famine and pestilence will cease globally, ... for God promised Noah that he would never again destroy the earth because of the sins of man and He declared He did not create the earth for nothing and

Hi everyone, I'm Martha. I just signed up and in, and I'm looking forward to meeting you. So, where do I begin to tell you about me. Everyone has a story to tell about themselves. Problem is, sometimes it's not so easy to do, but I'll try. Let me start with, - - I'm now living in wonderful & beautiful, sunny So Florida, but grew up in just as beautiful, New Jersey. I was number 5 of 8, and yet, still a very shy & lonely kid. I didn't have many "friends", most kids just made fun of me and my family because we were the "poor ones" in the neighborhood! I did however, have one very dear and close friend, Irene, whom I still keep in touch with today. I was famous for making up stories (lying ), to cover up my own hurt feelings. But, writing was, and still is, a calming, therapuedic escape & coping tool for me. My 6th grade teacher was so taken by a story I handed in for our last major assignment for the school year that she would take time at the end of each day and read some of it to the class. She also invited other 6th grade classes to sit in for the reading. For the last 8 wks of school, the entire body of 6th grade classes would gather on 2 separate days to get the latest chapter of my story. My teacher, Mrs. C told me she would be very disappointed if I didn't finish the story over the coming summer break, and to pursue writing as a profession ... and gave me an A-, I didn't get an A or A+ because I didn't finish the story. Everyone hounded me to finish it. But, I never did, until about a year or two later. Since then, we moved several times and eventually it was lost, and sadly, I can only remember bits and pieces of it, and never did follow her advice about a writing career, at least not til now! Though I haven't seriously attempted to offer my writings for publication, I have been steadily writing since 1996. Well, enough about me for now, hope to hear from y'all soon, ye' hear?!
