I'm a grandmother of 4 ages 3-9 in 2010. Lived all but the past 4 years in the Vancouver, BC area with the exception of 8 years of pig farming, 1500 is the largest figure, in Yarrow (about 25 mi from Vancouver) where we encountered fire (Jan) and flood (Dec) in the same year, followed by bottoming out of the pig market, so back to where we began. We moved to Smithers, BC in 2006 (northern BC) after my husband finally retired (I retired in 2004). I had been working as a division assistant at the Faculty of Commerce, UBC. I like reading and reviewing books, wildlife, ice- and ocean-fishing, broke my ankle in 3 places the first winter we were here so haven't been able to do any ice-skating... yet. We live on 5 acres backing onto a wildlife corridor. Profile photo taken from our sundeck. I'm at the beginning of writing, although I did write a children's book for a nephew 10 years ago I've thought of trying to get published. Also memories of my Grandmother, who lived in the Yukon from 1900-1908, written for family which I may rewrite.
