Has anyone ever attended the SCBWI convention. I'm planning on attending this summer's festival in LA, but would like to know more in advance. Plan to come with at least 20 stories to show, and blog about it while there.
Any practical advice would dearly be appreciated.

Just finished reading A Gent's Perspective - a blog from a supposed agent. Past the angry vituperative diatribes - depression sucks, friend - there were actually more than a few useful things to glean from it. Suspect the lesson is: there are probably lots more like him; best get used to it.

I'm finally done. My dad passed away a month ago, and it took several weeks to get everything arranged for 30 or so family members to come into town for the funeral. Lots of food, tears, funny stories, drink, photos, birthday celebrations for the little ones who came along, recollections about my da... more

Hi, John. Thanks for your message. I, too, lived in Germany as a brat - Zweibruchen and Bremerhaven. Your novel has a great opening sentence! ("Yesterday I robbed a bank.") Good luck with it!!

Thank-you for the welcome.
Sounds like you have had interesting experiences as a massage therapist, and through life in general. I don't think I would stop, unless my arms fell off, I don't think people would enjoy massage by mechanical arm. Your current job sounds exciting in itself,... more
