About Michael
My first book, BORN TO FLY, won the 2007 Delacorte Yearling award for a first middle grade novel, and was published in July 2009.
I got the idea for BORN TO FLY at a WWII airshow, where I overheard a boy telling his little sister that girls could never be fighter pilots. I wrote the story for her, and my daughters.
