I write teen novels and the occasional chapter book.

When I'm not writing, I'm reading and reviewing teen novels. Or...uh...networking...yeah, that's it...networking on the computer.

My life's merry-go-round includes a husband, two teens, a dog, four geriatric cats, a young kitty, a bearded dragon, and several assorted fish. I've taught 8th graders for 20 years - I love Algebra. I am surrounded by teens. They are energizing and fun, and yes, a challenge. My students love to get me off topic and think it's really cool that I have read so many of their books. When I pine for the writer's life of taking my kids to school, working out for an hour or so, then hitting the keyboard all day, I quickly realize that my ideas would dry up and blow away without the synergy I have with my students. Teaching can be so frustrating, but I doubt I'll ever be able to leave my students. Although I'm sure I'd be able to swing some time off for a whirlwind book tour!
