Good day!
I am Armand De Castro from the Philippines and an avid reader of your well-known book: “13 Reasons Why”. I got interested with the book when my friend first introduced it to me. I was not fond of the Young-Adult Fiction genre, however, my friend told me that it was really good. I browsed the book and it easily got my attention when the story took an unexpected plot twist. Its characters are well-written making the readers hooked on reading the story. I have to commend you for tackling timely issues in a genre that is read by most young adults.
I just have a few questions that I’ve been meaning to ask you after reading your amazing work. After searching for reviews, I have noticed negative criticisms with regards to your book. As we all know, the issue on suicide and depression are still stagnant due to the fact that it is still not openly addressed by many. That is why critics viewed your work as a triggering factor for people who are suffering from bullying or depression to commit suicide as a way of solving their way out of their problems. With high hopes, a feedback from you that will clear the air among young adults and how they view your story is appreciated.
And lastly, I have been thinking if you have experienced bullying during your childhood. I have tried searching for your personal details on the internet and I found no information with regards to your childhood. If you have been bullied, would you mind telling me how you overcame bullying? I believe that in there is so much inspiration needed in order to write a book.
I am hoping for a fruitful career ahead of you and looking forward for your response.

Dear Jay Asher, thank you for wrighting thirteen reasons why. I read the book and at the end I cried, I cried when it got to Clay's tape. All my friends laughed when I mentioned Hannah's name or every time they saw the cover they thought it was me. My favorite thing is that you put the suicid hotline in the back. ( I'm only 12) so it hit hard when my grade every body cuts their wrist. I've already stopped so many people so reading this it shows how bad it is when you don't help. Some people that were cutting read it and they realized how bad it can get so this book was a life saver
