I started writing songs in 1997. I had always enjoyed writing poetry and the transition to songs was an easy one. Then I started writing poetry for a character education program that my wife was introducing to newspapers. One of the poems I wrote caught the attention of our editor. She said, "Develop this story. It is a good one." So I did. The Diffy poem became a manuscript for a picture book. Then the picture book became a chapter book. Then the dinosaur became a boy and Axle Galench (pronounced G'lench) was born. I have two books of the 10 book series published and currently am working on book three and four.

Kids always ask me where I get my inspiration and I tell them that THEY are my inspiration. I spend a lot of my time at schools reading to kids. Their enthusiasm for a good story is contagious!
