Dear readers, writers, publishers…,


My name is Franci Rogac and I come from the capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana. My wish is to publish my books in U.S.A.! I have decided to write the letter to your web site, because I would like to help children and young people all over the world as I did it in my country. In five years time I have already published ten fairy tales for children and my true autobiographical story about my amazing life: »A key to the homeless«. I was practicly living on the street for few years, without any secondary education and begging people for money that I could survive. Then something happened to me and I was able to finished three secondary schools in only few months. I have become a independent publisher. Today I am a social worker and I have started working with young people who escaped from home, left school and other problems.

During my 350 representations of fairy tales in hospitals, primary schools and over insitutions, I have already donated 3000 fairy tailes for disabled children, children of cancer, invalid, poor children, blid and deaf children. I have spread my ideas in more then 300 newspaper articles and also throught slovenian TV and radio shows. My experiences tought me how little is needed to help others making their lifes brighter and easier. I would like to come in U.S.A. to transmit the message that everybody can contribute for better lifes of children and young people.

School – Yes Or No

The street ... It's hard and cold, regardless of the time of year. It's a cardboard box, a radiator and lack of sleep. Sadness and corrosion ... Regret and despair. It's fleeting moments of joy, enclosed in a vicious circle that aches incessantly. Freedom and cage at the same time. Like alcohol ... A grassy patch of fun, as well as treading over oneself. A magic solution and a merciless end. Sweet sleep and an ever crueler reality. It's the sweetest smile and the longest tear. Rebellion and denial, but also a choice. Today, I would choose differently. Right from the start, I wouldn't look for shortcuts that only spawned more shortcuts until the trip itself got longer and harder. Right away, I would choose perseverance and struggle and myself, the way I am becoming today. But I was there, and all I had left was the thought that I could still reach for it, that it wasn't too late, and that the day always comes to pay the bill.

Actually, we are all homeless, searching for a key to ourselves and to happiness. Let this story tell that life is beautiful if we persevere and take heed to ourselves. If it helps one single person reach a decision more easily, it will have achieved its purpose.


I think that God speaks and heals through words and that is why my fairy tales talks about hope, persistence and friendship.

I'm convinced that together we can help ill children to find their lost smiles!
