I have been a lover of animals from my youth, and a lover of children. I believe that children without animals and (domestic) animals without children would be a boring world for both! I have three living children (two step and one biological), two boys and one girl, and had one daughter who died at the age of 27. Also I have four grandchildren.When my children were very small, I began writing stories for them, and they loved to gather around on the carpeted living room floor and say, "Read us a story, daddy." Sometimes I read "Peter Rabbit" or "Jemimah Puddle Duck" or some other children's favorite, but most often they wanted me to read the stories that I had written. Now that my kids are all grown up, they read stories to their children. It's a great tradition! I'm a firm believer that reading to children, and helping them learn to read well at an early age, increases and improves their intelligence, imagination and character. After my mom passed away, I inherited my parents' bedroom set...and now I sleep and dream on the very bed where I took naps as a kid, and where Mom used to read to me.Oh, and I'm not really 103 years old. That was just a teaser!
