About Jenelle
Reading and writing have always been two of my favorite past times. I am always in the middle of reading one to four books, one of which is usually a children's book and the other a resource for teachers. For you see, I am a fourth grade teacher. Even though I've been teaching now for 13 years, I believe that I have so much yet to learn about teaching and children. I am always reading a book on the most recent research on the best way to teach language arts to children. I am also always reading children's literature because I want to be able to instill the love of reading that I have into my young charges. The only way I can do that is by knowing what books are out there so that I can recommend the right books to the right readers.
I do not have any of my own children to go home to every day, but I do have five wonderful children in my life that I borrow whenever I can. :) I have two darling nieces, Evelyn (3) and Kyla (10 months). Evelyn already loves books and will sit and listen to Peter Rabbit over and over again. I think her favorite birthday presents this year were books. I also have two wonderful god-children, Logan (6) and Charlotte (3). Both of these two kids love adventures that they take me on whenever they can. And my last sweetheart is Lily (20 months), my cousin's daughter. Lily is just starting to really talk, and we're having some great conversations.
I do have two canine "children", both dachshunds. I got Belle from a breeder when she was about weeks old. She is now 8 and a beautiful long-haired sable (red) princess. Her "brother" Neal, nicknamed Bo Bo, came to the family when he was over a year old from an elderly gentleman who had cancer and could no longer care for Neal. So, Bo Bo, now 7-years-old, became our black and tan short-haired addition to the family. If Belle believes she is the princess, then Bo Bo is her court jester. :) These two "kids" of mine make every day more fun.
