Sitting by the sea, staring at the waves, thinking of my son sailing away.
I shed a few tears in the sand and I asked my God to hold him in the palm of His hand.
Then his baby years flashed before my eyes.
His first step, his first bicycle ride.

The Promise

Sitting by the sea, staring at the waves, thinking of my son sailing away.
I shed a few tears in the sand and I asked my God to hold him in the palm of His hand.
Then his baby years flashed before my eyes.
His first step, his first bicycle ride.
I drew two hearts in the sand and once again I asked my God to hold him in the palm of His hand.
Little by little the waves of the sea grew tall and the clouds grew thick.
A few raindrops came way. joined my tears, fell on the sand and turned the sand into clay.
Suddenly a voice like a thunder, which sounded just like another father said: Fear not for I have carried him this far and I shall carry him the rest of the way.
A bright beam of light came through the clouds, shined on my sandy hearts and joined with another teardrop.
But this last tear was not a tear of sadness but a tear of joy for my God's Promise.
