Hi all! I am an aspiring writer, being Muslim I have a particular interest in the current perceptions and misconceptions that are being held about Muslims and Islam. Personally I believe that the root cause of these misunderstandings are a lack of communication between Muslims and society at large. Statistics in Britain show that the two communities are not particularly integrated so is the current atmosphere of fear and suspicion at all surprising? Inspired by these observations I have written a short work of fiction, suitable for young people and adults, looking at what could be if people actually talked to each other. I think that since this is an area that is increasingly affecting us all it is of mainstream concern and if I can help at all to highlight that it is a criminally insane minority amongst the Muslims and not the entire community who needs to be alienated then I will have achieved my goal. I believe whole-heartedly in what I have to say in my work and if any publishers out there are interested, well don't be shy!
