I am a wife, mother, teacher, librarian, and writer. My name is Deidre Taft and I live in a small town in south Georgia. As my two daughters were growing up, I would make up bedtime stories for them each night. My husband always encouraged me to write down the stories, but I never did. Several years ago, while my mother was hospitalized, I did write down one of those stories. Since then I have written several stories for children, but have never sought to have any of them published until now.

I spent 15 years teaching high school English. One of the things that drew me to a career as an English teacher was my love for writing. Last August I moved from a high school classroom to an elementary school library. One of the aspects I love the most about my new job is reading books to my young students. I love sharing good books with my students and my dream is to one day be able to share a book that I have written with them.
