My profile is not so much about me as it is about this wonderful adventure I am having. You see, I was unexpectedly given the opportunity to get acquainted and write a book with my grandmother, Frances Willey Beebe, who died 16 years before I was born...

It all began over 55 years ago, when as a little girl, I came across a stack of loose, yellowing, typed pages, rather tattered and unkept in the bottom drawer of the hall cupboard. When I asked my mother (Ruth Ann) about the pages she told me they were a story written by her mother when she was about my age. She did not offer to read her story to me, and I did not ask...and so the pages remained where they were.

My mother never did read her story to me and I will never know why, though I suspect that it was just too painful. Ruth Ann's mother, my grandmother, became very ill and went off to 'High Country' a few short years after her daughter's fifth birthday.

And so, Ruth Ann and the Green Blowster, as it was to become, remained tucked away and seemingly forgotten until some fifty years later, when I once again happened upon the pages in another bottom drawer, the same jagged stack of papers, a little more yellow and a little more tattered with age. You see, Ruth Ann has gone on to join Dukey Daddles on his adventurous journey to 'High Country' but she left behind a wondrous family treasure.

And so began my writing adventure... I read what had been written those many years ago, added to, deleted from, and completed to the best of my abilities, the book as it reads today.

This is how after all this time, I have been blessed with getting to know my grandmother and also finally been able to share with my mother her very special story...even if just in my imagination.

Hopefully, my adventure will continue and you will join us, Ruth Ann and me, and all the friends and characters we will meet along the way.
