Guia Risari - Writer and Literary Translator

Guia Risari was born in 1971 in Milan, where she studied Classics and Philosophy at Università Statale and worked as an educationalist and a journalist for L’Unità.
After obtaining her degree, she specialized in Modern Jewish Studies at Leeds University. She moved to France in 1997 to prepare a PhD in Comparative Literature both at the Centre International d’Etudes Francophones in Sorbonne. She has dedicated lectures and articles to Levi, Améry and Benjamin and held conferences in various universities.
She published two essays "The Document Within the Walls. The Romance of Bassani" (Troubador Publishing 1998, 2nd ed. 2004) and "Jean Améry. Il risentimento come morale" (Franco Angeli 2002, Carocci 2016), winner of five literary awards.
She has translated essays, novels and various children books

Buk Buk 2015), "Je m’appelle Nako" (Le Baron Perché, 2014), "El vuelo de la familia Knitter (A buen Paso 2016).
"Il Taccuino di Simone Weil (Rueballu 2014), "Il Decamerino" (Mondadori 2015), "La porta di Anne" (Mondadori 2016), "Il viaggio di Lea" (EL Einaudi ragazzi 2016) are novels.
Among her two surrealistic texts are "Il pesce spada e la serratura" (Beisler, 2007), L’alfabeto dimezzato (Beisler, 2007).
One of her texts, "La pietra e il bambino", was staged by the company Teatro Gioco Vita in Italy and France.
