Leah McLaughlin welcomes the daunting challenge of rejuvenating the once magnificent gardens of the sprawling Waitehaven estate. She is also excited about the much needed income.

What the young widow doesn't anticipate is how much of a challenge the job will be: rain, broken equipment and a frightening stalker. After her first encounter with the stalker, she is forced to move into the mansion and spend time with her grumpy, mysterious employer, James Waite III.

Her feelings for handsome James are not clear. Whether he hands her a paycheck or keys to his Mercedes, she feels a breathtaking tingle. But when he snarls about uncut grass or broken shed doors, she feels red-faced humiliation.

As Mrs. Roberts, the sweet old housekeeper, shares bits of family secrets, Leah starts to understand the man's exasperation and sadness. When a new job presents itself she is torn. The new position will rescue her from Waitehaven, but what will rescue her heart?
