This set of ten pupils' books provide children with a permanent record of their science work. The books are about: drinks, soap and washing, special days, nursery rhymes, houses and homes, eggs, our sense, wet and dry, moving things and colours. The series is a topic-based science, covering all the National Curriculum requirements for science at Key Stages 1 and 2. The structure ensures complete coverage of all science attainment targets and programmes of study, yet is flexible enough to suit individual teachers. Other features include: relating science to children's everyday life and experience; developing scientific skills, as well as knowledge and understanding; giving guidance and support for all classroom teachers, particularly non-scientific specialists; providing a flexible and easy-to-use assessment programme; encouraging safe and careful practice in scientific work; and allowing science to be easily integrated into the National Curriculum.
