Like an artist I love to paint and draw. I did mainly commission work for paintings and murals before my daughter Heather died.
I couldn't paint for a year after that-no desire- then my daughter came to me in a dream and asked me to do a children's book about one of the cats she had rescued and found a home for. I had a purpose again. I donate all the proceeds to animal rescues. I call my style "Golden Book" as it reminds me of the books I use to read to my children. I was asked to be a freelance illustrator. Once one publisher knew about me then several did. I now have contracts with Outskirts Press and several others as a freelance illustrator. Since then I have learned how to format and layout a book with bleed and trim and have been publishing for my own clients, doing the illustrations and formating as well as getting it on Amazon and doing a video for them for their website or facebook site.
