Red Rocket Bookworks
Red Rocket Bookworks was founded with the notion that good kids' books aren't just for kids – they should appeal to the child in all of us. A good children's book should invite itself to be read; take a child's imagination by the hand and lead that child to new worlds, new adventures, new ideas. We at Red Rocket Bookworks celebrate the curiosity, the fantasy, and the limitless realms of a child's imagination. We want children to see that they each are unique and special. We like to show children that reading is fun. We like nonsense. We like fantasy. We like challenging kids to think. We like having fun with words and ideas. We like stories where kids are successful, where virtue is rewarded and meanness is not. We like to see children empowered to deal with life's problems and fears. We aren't concerned so much with how many titles we publish, but much more with how our books positively impact the lives of our readers. Our business philosophy is simple, even if a little different from most publishers. We are more concerned with getting good books into the lives of children than we are about making money. Quality books for kids comes first, everything else flows from there. Frankly, we think the price of many children's books, especially picture books, is too high. We don't have a problem with the likes of Borders or Amazon, they are well run businesses. But we do have a problem with the price moms and dads or your school end up having to pay after all the different markups along the publishing chain. We would rather sell directly to you whenever we can in order to keep the cost of children's books more reasonable.
