About Peter
I'm 46, British and have been writing off and on for at least 15 years. Influences include Monsters Inc, Donna Summer, Sigur Ros and Mr Benn.
My current novel-length manuscript 'The Olympian' (or more probably 'Take Nothing But Memories') began as a dramatisation of the life of Victorian doctor William Penny Brookes and how he inspired Baron Pierre de Coubertin to hold the first modern Olympic games.
Over a period of four years, eight drafts and much reflection the story has now developed into a time travel quest adventure for children aged 9-12.
Brookes and Coubertin play cameo roles along with a huge cast of characters both imagined and real in a tale of loss, love, self belief and impossible technology told from the point of view of a 13 year old boy.
